Another one I just discovered that fits right in here :

(29) Amphitrite

AMPHITRITE was the goddess-queen of the sea, wife of Poseidon, and eldest of the fifty Nereides. She was the female personification of the sea--the loud-moaning mother of fish, seals and dolphins.

Oh and not to forget:

In Greek mythology, Nereus (4660) was the eldest son of Gaia (the Earth) and of her son, Pontus (the Sea). Nereus and Doris became the parents of 50 daughters (the Nereids) and a son (Nerites), with whom Nereus lived in the Aegean Sea.
One of the Nereids was Thetis(17), who was the mother of the famous hero Achilles.

(237845) Neris: nymph goddess of the Neris River

Here's a list of water deities from different mythologies. Some of them are asteroids. http://www.theinfolist.com/php/SummaryGet.php?FindGo=river_god

Found this info on Lemuria.
Mentions Mermaids.

quote:
The beings of Lemuria had special gifts.

All were healers. All were team orientated and focused on one love. A soul family type vibe. We were shapeshifters with an ability to change form, using telepathy and were able to move in a similar way to whales, dolphins and birds, both on the land, through the air and the water.

Many myths speak of there being a great flood or cataclysm which brought about the end and sinking of Lemuria. Some went into the ocean and shapeshifted into whales, dolphins and the Mer (Mermaids).

Also,

There are so many of them, actually hundreds, or should I say the number is ″infinite″, that they have been divided in three main categories. Naiades, nymphs of rivers, lakes and springs. Oreiades, nymphs of the mountain conifers. And Dryades or Amadryades, nymphs of oak and poplar trees. I can share the categories, they are about 90 or 100 if I remember well, but really those three are all one needs to know. And they are what most people know.

It shows our elusive and imaginative qualities and where we need to express these qualities in ourselves. Amphitrite can also show where we give up our own power or can show how we like to be pursued or “chased” in romantic relationships. Where we may confuse others in our behaviors or where people find us mysterious.
Amphitrite can show where we may have gifts in intuitive knowledge or where we can be more creative in communicating our consciousness to others/the masses. The ability to accept guidance from unlikely sources, to use symbolism and all knowledge as a way to better understand a situation. To always keep your communication lines open to other ways of seeing the World.

Aspects between Amphitrite and the planets will show where we have an easier or more difficult time with Amphitrite energy. Some people will be more “Amphitritean” than others, especially when Amphitrite is in Water signs/houses, conjunct Ascendant or Mid-heaven, and/or conjunct Sun or Moon. »

Background —
« Nymph/Water Goddess and wife of Neptune/Poseidon. Amphitrite is a female version of Neptune. She has many of the traits of Neptune, but she is not rash or reactive, she uses more introspection in her decisions and persona. Some say she should have had Neptune’s position, as she was more dedicated to her ocean duties.«
