I just found another crazy connection that completely encapsulates Chiron in my life! It’s in Gemini, so communication issues... this has been very true and relevant in the recent past, but I think I just now traced it back to the source. Chiron has an exact conjunction with an asteroid matching my mother’s maiden name. I had a recent serendipitous occurrence that connected with her mother, the one grandparent I barely got to know. She died of cancer when I was very young; here’s my clearest memory of her. I’m maybe 4 years old, sitting at the counter running along the outside edge of the kitchen at my grandparents’ house. My grandma and her friend are standing in the kitchen talking, and all of a sudden I see and smell smoke coming off the stove behind her. I start to say “Grandma, I think something’s burning,” but I don’t get to finish— “Just a minute, dear.” I try to get her attention again— “Don’t interrupt when grownups are talking.” But by then it’s getting serious: “But Grandma, YOUR SWEATER’S ON FIRE!” She didn’t actually get burned all that badly, and everyone else treated me like a friggin’ hero, but still... I‘m pretty sure this explains why being talked over and ignored— and just displays of willful ignorance in general— are the one thing that can tip me over from annoyance into rage. (Maybe I ought to see if Cassandra fits in here too.)Anyone else have weird Chiron connections? IP: Logged |

Asteroid conjunctions to Chiron show us the nature of our pain. For example, if Sedna conj Chiron, our pain was due to betrayal by the father and men, in large part. The chart gives more info as we look more but this is a big piece and I always pay attention to it!------------------ Want to Read Simple, Fun,Sexy Articles on Astrology? Wow Chantrelle! .. What house is your Chiron in? {Guessing.... the 4th?} ha. maybe not.Wounds in the 'early years' would be found in the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. 4th is home and matriarchal lines? Feedback welcomed on that. Which 'house' they are found in will say a lot too. 114 Kassandra The one who Sees and is not believed. 4580 Child Thanks for sharing that story! IP: Logged |

I don’t know my exact time of birth— the time I use for charts is in the middle of a 2-hour window, so I don’t know how much of an effect it would have on house placements if I’m wrong. It appears to be 6th, though. And retrograde. Moon in 8th, all the other major planets in 1,2,10,11,12.IP: Logged |

- http://jyotishsurfer.wordpress.com/2019/06/26/chiron-the-wounded-healer-part-i-nat al-houses/ Chiron in an astrology chart shows where people have deep soul wounds and pain associated with those wounds. Every person’s personal “wound” is slightly different. Yet at the core of each is the same Chironic concept of self-wounding and repetition compulsion. With Chiron, the problems must also be dealt with by insight (Uranus). The catch is that if we don’t follow up these insights with more work (Saturn) the problems come back. The house position .. shows the particular area of our life where these things will manifest. The sign position .. shows how they tend to work out. Chiron takes approximate 49 years to journey through all twelve zodiac signs, we all go through a “Chiron return” near 49-51 years (soul searching time). On the positive side, Chiron carries in its core incredible teachings and healing powers. It often make the best doctors, psychologists, and alternative healers ever known. It gives us the ability to help others while being unable to help ourselves. In a chart, Chiron shows where you may best show your mastery or expertise, or how you heal or benefit others through your knowledge and past experience. Popular with psychological astrologers, Chiron is considered to represent: the wounded healer, priest, shaman, one who serves humanity. Chiron also alerts us to our blind spots – those features of our personality that are obvious to everyone but us. Astrologer Richard Nolle points out appropriately, ‘the symbol for Chiron is a stylized key. Look at it and the meaning becomes clear. A key is a device used to open a passageway from one reality to another’. Another great Chiron teacher is Barbara Hand Clow through her invaluable classic, ‘Chiron- Rainbow Bridge Between the Inner and Outer Planets.’
Clow describes Chiron as ‘an energetic force; a healing process or, an action verb instead of a noun’. She furthers: ‘The placement of Chiron in the natal chart functions like a hieroglyph. Chiron is a vehicle in the chart to show where and how realities intersect. It is a doorway into feelings about events, …and a revelation of the cosmic influence. It is an occult or seeing tool’. Melanie Reinhart describes an interesting phenomena that happens with respect to the area of woundedness that Chiron represents in an astrology chart. She speaks of a pattern where people have a tendency to go back and repeat their self-wounding activity in an effort to heal it, all the while making the wound deeper. Reinhart refers to this process as “repetition compulsion”. She says, “The memory of a painful feeling, stored in the unconscious, will tend to attract to it situations in the present which repeat the same ingredients and thus reactivate the old wound. These cycles of repetition occur because a wound is still seeking healing.” . . . House 6 – (ruling debts, illness, enemies, habits / daily routine, service / job, stomach, liver, bladder and nervous system; ruled by Virgo / Mercury) Chiron in 6th house effects (Wounded Freedom) * people-pleasing, anxiety about people’s judgments * being excessively critical of others * obsession with health; preoccupation with health issues (possibly for childhood injuries/illness), hypochondria * Difficulties in being flexible, capacity assessment * emotional wounds connected with how the native perceives work and service towards others * failures to harmonically cooperate with employers; difficulties in coping up with procedures/rules etc; fear of not being up to the task * stomach, liver issues. bladder and nervous system related issues {to remedy} ... * healing – practicing being at the service of others, helping others; build capabilities and flexibility

A later section that jumped out at me from that second link: Because of the erratic orbit of Chiron, it is in some signs for a very short time and in others for a long time. Therefore, depending on where it is placed in a person’s natal chart will depend on how soon they will experience their first Chiron square. For some this occurs in young adulthood and in others it occurs at a very young age. And the thing about the Chiron return: goes a long way toward explaining why my ex turned into such a bitter, resentful, blame-flinging 🤬 about a year ago. I’ll try to remember that for when I turn 49. But honestly, I don’t feel like most of that ‘Chiron in the 6th’ list applies. I’m definitely not a hypochondriac or a health nut; when I wasn’t self-employed I have generally gotten along with bosses and co-workers just fine. Definitely some difficulty with feeling like I work my butt off at things that other people don’t value as much as I do, and a couple of times that I’ve passed on something that might have been a great job opportunity because I thought I wasn’t qualified. Of course, I suppose I should take into account the fact that it’s supposed to be obvious to everyone but me... IP: Logged |

The first link describing the houses might help you decide a closer birthtime, based on the challenges of chiron in the houses.(Agree-- I didn't think the 6th seemed to 'fit' you, btw.) I own the Rainbow Bridge Chiron book by BH Clow. It's in one of my storage bins and I haven't looked through the book in a very long while. She mentions what you said about the length of time, and also the timing of the "first square"-- it can happen while you're younger, or even wait until your in your early 20s! Said it was more difficult to have this happen at the older rather than younger years. I remember Clow saying that IF you hadn't been successful through the first square, then the-issue may be revisited during the time of the Uranus Opposition. (in your 40s)

I guess 6th and 7th both feel more plausible than 5th. But if it were in 7 that would put Mars in 2nd instead of 1st and Uranus in 1st instead of 12th. That doesn’t feel right at all. From the Liz Greene article: Key Themes The Sun Individual destiny Sense of meaning Hope for the future Self-confidence Generosity Individual identity apart from family and collective The power to create The ability to play The divine child Chiron Collective failings and flaws Disillusionment Failed ideals Inescapable wounding Bitterness and cynicism Physical and psychological damage Acceptance of mortal limits Quest for understanding Compassion The Sun working against Chiron: Depression Loss of confidence Sense of permanent damage Cynicism Expectation of failure Sense of victimisation or scapegoating Desire to victimise or scapegoat others Projection of inferiority on others Loss of the will to live The Sun working with Chiron: Wisdom Patience in the face of that which cannot be changed Toughness and grit Understanding of deeper patterns Melancholy which leads to depth of thought and feeling Determination to make a contribution to the welfare of others Compassion Feelings of specialness tempered by an acceptance of human limits Activation of the will to live

Okay, so here’s the slightly surreal part: Earlier this year my life did a revolution, and I just really needed to talk it over with someone with some objectivity. So I called up a not-close acquaintance— the nurse at my daughter’s high school, who I immediately liked upon meeting the previous year and had vaguely intended to hang out with but never made time to do so. We made plans to go for a hike, meeting elsewhere and driving there together. So we did, and after I hopped in her minivan she said, “Okay, so first off, how do you feel about cremains? Because I have these ashes that I need to scatter — I did one with a friend yesterday, and I’ve got two more to dispose of, and this seemed like a good place, and I didn’t think you’d be the kind of person to freak out about it, but if you want I can save it for another time.” I, of course, was fine with scattering ashes, but curious as to the how and why of the situation, so she told me: She and a friend were on their way somewhere, when they noticed a hearse for sale parked by the side of the road. Her friend knew enough about cars to verify that it was a great deal, so she bought it! The seller asked if she wanted the cremains; she thought he was joking, laughed and said “sure,” then later discovered three urns full of ashes in the back seat. So she called the guy to find out what the story was; he’d acquired them over years on the job as a professional house cleaner, preparing empty properties for new occupants, and just never known what to do with them. He had kept records of the names and addresses of the people who had left them behind, so she used that to backtrack through local funeral homes, trying to track down any further family members to return them to. After three weeks with no results, she decided that she’d been given the responsibility, and chose to dispose of them this way: on three different mountains, with three different people. The one she’d chosen to bring that day belonged to a woman named Nancy, same as my grandmother in the story above. Afterward she offered me the urn to keep; the next day my 6-year-old son came across it and, without even asking what it was, immediately proceeded to build a cardboard Egyptian pyramid to house it in. (All this oddity is what prompted me to look up the asteroid in the first place.)IP: Logged |
