I hold a Good Opinion of him from what I could gather.
He did not deserve to be hunted down so savagely by his own country folk!
R.I.P gaddafi!

What are your views about him and the policies that he advocated and why do you think he was targeted?
Im beginning to sense a sinister ploy being devised against those who have the potential to prosper!!How long will the good be painted as bad??

Here is a starter list of Exceptionally Good Things to his credit!

1. There is no electricity bill in Libya; electricity is free
for all its citizens.

2. There is no interest on loans, banks in Libya are
state-owned and loans given
to all its citizens at 0% interest by law.

3. Home considered a human right in Libya –
Gaddafi vowed that his parents
would not get a house until everyone in Libya had a
home. Gaddafi’s father has
died while him, his wife and his mother are still living
in a tent.

4. All newlyweds in Libya receive $60,000 Dinar (US$
50,000 ) by the government
to buy their first apartment so to help start up the
family.

5. Education and medical treatments are free in
Libya. Before Gaddafi only 25%
of Libyans are literate. Today the figure is 83%.

6. Should Libyans want to take up farming career,
they would receive farming
land, a farming house, equipments, seeds and
livestock to kick- start their farms
– all for free.

7. If Libyans cannot find the education or medical
facilities they need in Libya,
the government funds them to go abroad for it –
not only free but they get US
$2, 300/mth accommodation and car allowance.

8. In Libyan, if a Libyan buys a car, the government
subsidized 50% of the price.

9. The price of petrol in Libya is $0. 14 per liter.

10. Libya has no external debt and its reserves
amount to $150 billion – now
frozen globally.

11. If a Libyan is unable to get employment after
graduation the state would
pay the average salary of the profession as if he or
she is employed until
employment is found.

12. A portion of Libyan oil sale is, credited directly to
the bank accounts of all
Libyan citizens.

13. A mother who gave birth to a child receive US
$5 ,000

14. 40 loaves of bread in Libya costs $ 0.15

15. 25% of Libyans have a university degree

16. Gaddafi carried out the world’s largest irrigation
project, known as the Great
Man-Made River project, to make water readily available throughout the desert

17.He was helping africa pay off their debts!

18.He wanted to forge all states of into U.S.A-United States of Africa.

19.He was about the change their currency to the Gold Deena as their country is rife with gold. If this happened, that would have meant that 200,000 people dying of starvation in 3rd world countries would never happen again, however, once this happens a president who tries to help the people ends up being killed by the "economic hitman"!

Overall Gaddafi was an amazing man, he offered free education, free heath care, free everything to allow for his country to flourish.

He did many great things but spoilt it all by killing so many of his own. Not to mention Lockerbie. Had he respected human rights and not laundered 20 billion dollars abroad , he would have not seen any revolution. It is also possible that he paid for the sins of his children.

Free is a Fallacy, Something is always paid. Somewhere, Somehow.

*SMACK* Now, correct yourself.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Work_ethic

Work ethic is a set of values based on hard work and diligence. It is also a belief in the moral benefit of work and its ability to enhance character. An example would be the Protestant work ethic. A work ethic may include being reliable, having initiative, or pursuing new skills.

*Note: I do not mean simply producing something. People work hard in all areas of life if you really think about it.*

*People work hard in areas of life that have nothing to do with "work"*

Example: Working on yourself to be a better person. That is hard work in itself. No one gives a person "a better you".

The cost is your time and effort, and probably other peoples time and effort for which you will have to pay something back.

Paying does not exactly mean money, you know?

George Harrison

It don't come easy.

(It don't come easy, you know it don't come easy)
(It don't come easy, you know it don't come easy)

Got to pay your dues if you want to sing the blues
And you know it don't come easy
You don't have to shout or leap about
You can even take it easy
Forget about the past and all your sorrow
The future won't last
It will soon be your tomorrow

I don't ask for much, I only want your trust
And you know it don't come easy
And this love of mine keeps growing all the time
And you know it don't come easy
Open up your heart, let's come together
Use a little luck, and we will make it work out better

Got to pay your dues if you want to sing the blues
And you know it don't come easy
You don't have to shout or leap about
You can even take it easy
Please remember peace is what we make it
Here withing your reach, if you are big enough to take it

I don't ask for much, I only want your trust
And you know it don't come easy
And this love of mine keeps growing all the time
And you know it don't come easy

I agree Mb...Love is such a precious virtue!
Also honesty, trust, loyalty, commitment and many others...It does not serve it's purpose unless it comes at a high cost!
"As you sow,so shall you reap..."
None of the good virtues come easy!

P.S- Mb there is a topic addressed to you in LC2.
