Hey guys new member here! I happened to accidentally stumble across this sight and though I'd join in on some topics. I've always been amused by the topic of what if the life you are living is just a simulation. I've seen topics about this, and it continues to boggle my mind. Just imagine the year is 3000 and technology has advanced so far that virtual reality and actual reality are indistinguishable . This is achieved by having a computer hooked up directly into your brain stem and sending specific impulses. Now imagine this simulator or video game can do two things: Time dilation — Where hundreds of years can pass by in a couple minutes of real-world time. Given the fact that narcotics and sympathoadrenal responses do the same, it is doable. Memory & Knowledge Replacement — In this simulator you can replace your memory from your amygdala and hippocampus with a new set. So now you can go inside the simulator and have a new personality, memories, and skills. You can go in and not know that you’re even in a virtual world. Now many play this game because it creates a sense of immortality by having hundreds of years pass in a few minutes. The uses are endless and it creates a new world for you to explore, and you will not know it's fake. NOW HERE: You're in a simulator right now and you don't know it. You entered into the 21st century to experience how it was and are currently living through a life cycle. Whenever you programmed yourself to "pass away" you'll wake up and realize only 5 minutes passed and it is time for dinner. This hypothetical situation is fun to ponder since you really do not know the world around you. You only know what your senses tell you, and those themselves are just ion channels opening and closing. What do you guys think? IP: Logged |

Welcome April!Sounds much like the spiritual reality of life between death and rebirth, I mean the way you described it from a virtual/computer POV can be applied to the spirit and reincarnation almost perfectly. So, with our Universe and our perceptions, the way everything functions can be described in very technical and computer -like way, some scientists have deduced a lot of reality into code, computer code, 1's &0's, I forgot his name but he said that everything has a program and is determined to a certain degree. So he went down that futuristic path and looked at reality like a simulation. However, I think what this is telling us, as above so below, that our ideas and decoding is revealing Gods code and how life, time and experiences occur beyond our 3D reality. Say after one dies, you wake up out of your 'dream' with the sum of your life experiences, from previous and future lives. Then the choice to reincarnate (choose a new 'game') ect until the soul achieves mastery. I don't like to look at it like a game, though I have various ideas on what I think, though its very personal as we touch upon the other dimensions and illusions. ------------------ Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let pain make you hate. Do not let bitterness steal your sweetness. Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still believe it to be a beautiful place. -Kurt Vonnegut. IP: Logged |
