If it's an online situation...documentation of the abuse is extremely important. If I could do only one thing differently, it's that, because documentation is proof/ evidence. I was totally ignorant of what to do and how to handle it when it started, so I found out years into it that you need to document any and all harassment.

By that I mean - first, you need to say flat out to them in writing, that you don't want to talk to them anymore and don't want them addressing you or contacting you in any way shape or form. When you do it, take a printscreen or screenshot of your computer screen; make sure your request is easily seen/visible on the screen, along with the date and time (and URL). This is to show that you told them you didn't want the contact, (in case they persist afterwards and you wind up deciding to pursue a criminal case). Save the image and keep it someplace safe.

After that? Never say anything to them again. I know if they persist and keep harassing you, it's very hard to sit there and say nothing, because your innate tendency is going to be to want to speak up for and defend yourself - plus we're all brought up being taught that if you
stand up to" bullies and predatory people, they'll back down and go away.

That's not always the case. There are some who actually get off on any form of reaction you might give them, and responding to them will just give them a rush and that will make them keep doing it. Plus, some of them will take any comments you make, save them and twist things later to make it look like you were the aggressor and stalker. It's damn hard to just sit on your hands, but say NOTHING. They may even escalate it initially for a while to try and get a reaction out of you - still, don't give it to them. Just printscreen/screenshot it when they ambush you, and save it to your computer.

Also - any places that you frequent that they also hang out at as well, stop going to them. I know it feels like tucking tail and running, or like being a coward, but trust me, it isn't. It's putting a boundary between you and them, and making it difficult for them to approach you in order to harass you, which is something different entirely. It's also much better for you psychologically and emotionally than sitting there taking in a deluge of hatred and verbal abuse. Don't expose yourself to that toxicity if you don't have to. That's what they want anyway, to break your spirit.

My third suggestion, is to get busy. By that I mean, find a lot of things to do on a regular basis, to take your mind off of it and help you keep centered and maintain your sense of perspective. Develop new hobbies. Get out of the house - alot. Socialize. Focus on a job, or school, and if you don't have either right now, start calling around and get one (or both). Get other things going in your life. Trust me, when you do that, suddenly what they're doing seems incredibly minor, and that way you don't lose your sense of self and get lost in all the drama. When you have REAL stuff to do and worry about and focus on, and when you start having all kinds of successes in your actual real, offline life, and things to look forward to there, suddenly the harassment and B.S. carries a lot less weight and affects you a lot less.

And...just remember who you are and how special you are. Never forget that. Trust me,that's why they targeted you...because they see so much light and good and beauty and joy in you, both inside and out, and they're envious of it. Some people, are just messed up inside, due to their early experiences in life, or something else. And they don't always know how to cope with or handle it, or go about getting the psychological help they need. Sometimes they let it make them bitter and turn them into hateful people, and then they go around trying to spread the misery.

I believe i got rid of my 'offline' problem, but
hmmm am thinking this stalking thing is carrying on online, even on this forum with me, by someone pathetic who is not half as smart as they think they are, but am no longer reacting to low level (personality/class/ethics/all) things, pretending to be so spiritual or good when they wouldn't know what spirituality or goodness is if it hits them on the face...

Anyways just wishing people who were on the receiving end of these ...things....the best of luck, and a much better life than anyone expected for them...

Goodness i sound so angry about these things....probably because i am lol...sigh life...or the people who instead of living it, are trying to end it for others...

btw for others, even Ana maybe just reading about it will be helpful
