Hello. My name is Steve Miller. I am a volunteer working with Asgardia: The Space Nation. I function as an Administrative Coordinator of the group of volunteer staff who help to manage the Asgardia community and national chapters.
These are my personal opinions and observations of Asgardia. I am sharing this information as a private individual, not as an official source of information. All I ask is that before you make up your mind about Asgardia based upon illuminati-conspiracy theory, please also consider the actual program information.
Asgardia:The Space Nation is a new concept in social deveopment of a secular, technocratic micro-nation that has a focus on humane freedom and scientific education.
Several media articles have sensationalized the more elaborate aspects of Dr. Igor Ashurbeyli's concept and plan. Yes, he mentioned the idea of protecting Earth from space threats. He did not say that Asgardia plans to launch a weapon's platform next year. He did not say that Asgardians will be living in outer space in the near future. He did not say that this will be a fully ratified, independent, and legal country within a few months.
Before running amok with casual opinions, take a look at the main website, their FAQ, and Ashurbeyli's monthly addresses to the members. Make up your own mind. Do you think this is a crazy idea or is it a way to engage creative professionals from around the world to help make humanity better?
Over 500,000 people from around the world are intersted in Asgardia. There are scores of chapters forming worldwide. This is a secular movement - religion and spirituality are personal choices that ought have little bearing in a scientific, yet philosophical, community. No one is flying off to join the aliens or align their higher chakras, nor is anyone soon to be living in a space habitat.
Thank you for your time.
Administrative Coordinator, Civic.Asgardia.
