Just my opinion;
but....
I feel Tesla was what some term a Sapiosexual.
Hence why physical relationships were not a high priority in his life.
One can in essence experience "mindgasms/braingasms";
caused by eureka and intellectual matters and discourses, and the exquisite thrill/ecstasy and satisfaction that comes with invention and so forth.
Such things easily make physical intimacy unnecessary or even undesired for a mind/brain such as his.------------------
