Thanks, Mambo! So, canola oil is actually bad? Very interesting information! ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |

Mambo, Thanks for the info. In our house it has been olive oil or nothing for several yrs now. Also, we only eat butter never any kind of margarine, ever! IP: Logged |

I too only eat butter, apparently we have margarine on sale over here that is banned for consumption in the UK. It's all subjective, there would be just as many claims to Canola and Margarine stating the opposite. IP: Logged |

There's research to back up both sides in many different subjects. I used to Love to do term papers, because I could always find sources to back up anything I wanted to say. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." I have heard and read some terrible stories about canola oil. Basically, if you want to keep healthy, the best thing to do is stick to natural foods, and avoid all genetically engineered "stuff" (I refuse to call what scientists are doing to our food, "food"!) It would be even better if some more powerful people united to stamp out these genetically modified/engineered products, or at least label them so those of us who care about our health can choose not to buy them. Entire crops of organic wheat, for example, were destroyed in Iowa, because the wind had blown over some GE wheat chaff from another farm. The whole business of modifying food is very scary.IP: Logged |

I would stick with olive oil and organic butter if you need it. Please be careful. Food is supposed to provide life, and give energy, not hurt us. ------------------ Food is the only art that nourishes! IP: Logged |
