hi ! i'm new to this site & i want to thank every1 here for the wealth of information they provide. I feel fortunate to have been invited. ( Thank you my Egyptian brother I wanted to ask if any1 could reccomend anything holistic for degenerative, bulging disks; my doctor recommends muscle relaxers, & pain pills, he says I'm not a candidate for operation, ( which will only be performed over my dead body ) & I refuse pain pills- he also says a chiropractor's manipulating my back may do it more harm than good. Right now, I only take the occasional Aleve. My pain has greatly increased recently, and is beginning to effect my attitude. I'm not a full fledged Evilene just yet, but I'm impatient, hate traffic, & find sleeping uncomfortable. My siatic nerve has my butt on fire, & my hips aflame. Any advice will be greatly appreciated, I'm also attempting to lose weight simultaneously, & become a vegetarian. PS, any1 familiar with the benefits of Glucosamine Chondroitin ? Thanx- IP: Logged |

I don't know what can help you exactly, but I do know that arnica, which is a homeopathic remedy, which are all natural and non habit forming, helps to releive pain. I would also recommending drinking a glass of kava kava tea before you go to bed, that is a natural herb that will relax you and help you get to sleep, and may also numb some of the pain. I drink that a few times a week. I also wanted to say that I admire your convictions and will be praying for you!------------------ Food is the only art that nourishes! IP: Logged |

Have you ever thought of massage therapy? It's non-invasive, and works on strengthening muscles and releiving pain that is caused by pinched nerves and other things. A certified or licensed therapist couldn't do you more harm (they would really have to try in order to do so). Reiki and energy work also come to mind.Hope things go well for you! IP: Logged |

I too have suffered from unbearable back pain. Mine was mainly due from stress. The two things that have helped me are Noni pills (a tahitian fruit), and yoga. Before I start my day I spend a half hour doing a beginner yoga tape with Patricia Walden. It has helped me fight depression, back pain, and everything else. Just take it VERY VERY slow-The Noni has been a miracle- I don't know what it is tradionally been used for...but I have not suffered from pain since I began taking them! IP: Logged |

My boyfriend fell down a flight of stairs, and severly injured his back when he was sixteen. Since then he has suffered with his back pain. (my poor baby ) He has this thing that hangs you upside down at an angle which streches out your back. Its called "Hang Ups", and while its not a very perminent treatment, is really helps him out on his harder days. (p.s. Ive got some really great stories about this thing... nevermind...) **Joga**IP: Logged |

Thx to both Joga 4 the " Hang ups " in4 & theFajita for the question.... Fajita, I learned Noni juice from Polynesia is found in open costal regions, along lava flows. The Noni fruit bud is a vivid green then turns bright yellow when ripe & has a strong, pungent smell & taste. Noni is a natural source of a variety of beneficial phytochemicals. The oldest references to Noni date back tens of centuries to India's ancient Sanskrit writings that cite Noni for it's Ayurvedic uses. All this knowledge from the back of the bottle : ) ! The juice is pretty fast acting- & it doesn't taste too bad either.... ( thx again Murcurial ) Katiebull, I was also treated to a GREAT hot stone massage yesterday ! You're really right, it was wonderful !!!!!!!!!!!! IP: Logged |

You are welcome Utopia!I swear Noni is a miracle! I started a new job two weeks ago and it has really stressed me out. I started getting my chronic back aches from feeling so overwhelmed...and once I again I turned to my faithful friend Noni...and the pain was gone in a day...and since I have been taking them faithfully the pain stays away! I don't know what it does or how it does it...I just thank the stars up above for it! It really works!!!!!!!! IP: Logged |
