An officer showed up at my best friend's door about an hour ago to give her a phone number at a hospital 2 hours away. Her husband was admitted...he had been pumping gas in a town also about 2 hours away, when he fell over. Possibly a heart attack but we know nothing about his condition at this moment...or...even if he is alive. He _was_ alive, at least...he was life-flighted to the hospital.

She's very scared...we're leaving for the hospital in a few minutes...

His name is Michael...he's gentle to animals...thanks for any thoughts you can spare.

Thanks everyone, it's much appreciated.

Odd story, he was out of town, at a small independent gas station out in God's country...they noticed him slumped over in his car. Called emergency, but, amazingly, there was a truck equiped with an emergency defibrilator (sp?) RIGHT THERE. They got his heart started again and life-flighted him to the hospital...

When we got there the doctors said it was a major artery, 100% blocked, but they cleared it. The problem was, no one knew how long he was passed out in the car. There is only a five minute window before brain damage begins...so it became a matter of wait and see. The longer it took him to wake, the more indicative of brain damage. Days would mean severe damage. Sooooo, he woke briefly last night before midnight, and they then sedated him heavily, to relieve the strain on his heart.

I can only take it as a positive indication that he woke before midnight. We'll know more before the day is done...

But thank you all so very much. They're good people (she is a big Linda fan, we took astrology classes together)...they've had some tough times recently and this, well, you know the impact such a thing would have on their lives.

Thanks you again...and I told her on the way home last night about this post, and she would like to thank you all as well. She's not 'puter savvy or she would have done it herself.

Miracles do happen.

Yesterday when Cyndi walked into the room, he was sitting in a chair, not even hooked to a respirator or anything! Signs are good, and hopefully he will come home this weekend.

Thank you for your healing thoughts...may your kindness come back to you a hundred-fold.

Wow -- another miracle, and another great argument for carrying first aid supplies in one's vehicle! Although a defilibrator (sp? heck trillian, I get all my medical jargon from ER, pretty hopeless here!) isn't exactly standard issue stuff... wow.

I'm sending a prayer for his complete recovery.

Thank you all, he is home recovering now, and feeling fitter than in a long time, getting oxygen and blood flowing in his body again!

His wife is very grateful for your kind thoughts.

I've just returned from a holiday at the beach, and the news looks good.
Many thanks, and again, may your kindness come back to you a thousand-fold!
