Yeah, I tried it too, I had everything including the bulbs, did it religiously and exactly, and I was steadily gaining weight. I know in Star Notes Linda says this can happen and it goes away, but it was just too scary to watch my jeans get snugger and snugger.

I have a bunch of those red bulbs that I could probably send to someone in need, btw.
I tried this method 3 times, and just gained weight each time. *sigh* Sorry, Linda, I wanted to believe, and I worked very hard, but I guess it's just not for me.

Oh, and at the risk of sounding impertinent, I pondered the question: if this is ancient wisdom, what did the ancients use when they didn't have electricity for red bulbs?

Color therapy is ancient; it probably took much longer without bulbs available.

For God's sake , you guys gained weight???!!! . I can't really afford to gain any weight!!! What happened? Did you lose the weight that you had gained? Oh my goodness. I haven't started yet I just got my light bulbs and this big red container that I plan to use for my glasses. I was just wondering what would happen if someone just said hey I don't want to do this anymore.

What do you think was the reason that it worked the way it did???
OH YOU GUYS, do you think that having sex while on the color diet is an issue, because if you are balancing your aura would having sex interfere or would it have nothing to do with it at all???

Linda said there might be weight gain at first while balancing your LOCH. Also, you mustn't weigh yourself, or it will short-circuit the magick.

I can only speak for myself here, and I don't want to be disrespectful to the wisdom imparted by Linda, so remember, this is just my experience.

I did not weigh myself.
I only watched my clothes get tighter and tighter. The last time I attempted this, I had visited here, and was also aware of Star Notes, and knew that initial weight gain was possible. But after 10 days of gaining, I just couldn't continue. Gaining weight is too stressful.

Silverbells, I don't know why it didn't work. In Star Notes, Linda says she received letters from fans who said it did, in fact, work for them. She also says for some people it will not work at all. You should do a quick search here in LL, there are some other posts here of people who tried the program. The only person I recall posting with positive results was, I think, RubyRedRam, who said her parents tried the color diet, with success. One did the blue, one did the red. All other posts I've read here have been mixed, at best, results.

I followed the program religiously. Before I knew white flour and sugar were permissible (as detailed in Star Notes), I even went so far as to make my own mayonaise to avoid sugar. I woke every a.m. at 5:30 and listened to Zombie or White Zombie on my walkman. I did it all.

You know Randall, I would like to know what ancient civilization is responsible for its origins, out of curiosity and for research.

silverbells, I am only relating my experience!!! You must trust your inner self and follow as you will. Because it wasn't right for me, does not mean it isn't right for you!

Oh, sex is RED! Sex is every color of the rainbow...but it's soooo very RED! Anyway, it's good for the body, good for the aura, good for what ails ya, I don't think sex in any way could interfere with the color diet.

Hey, keep us posted on your progress!

Color therapy is an old branch of metaphysics (like many others) that predates electricity.

But during sex don't you share or partake in the other person's energy or is that a different type of partaking that has nothing to with that. I am going to post this as a new topic and maybe there will be more responses.

I did the color diet for a while ... sort of. I tried the red diet for losing weight. While I was able to fully commit to it (about 15 days) I definitely lost weight, about 7 lbs if I remember correctly. I spent maybe another month trying to keep up with it, but kind of cheating ... like cutting the time short or skipping a day. I didn't gain any more weight but I stopped losing weight once I did this. Interestingly enough, I lent the bulb to a friend a short time later and it burst after her 2nd or 3rd session. I haven't tried it again, but I recently began trying to stick to the color guidelines for food and clothes whenever possible. I also bought some pink sunglasses, lol. I can't say that it's because of this that I've continued to lose weight, but I have. Not drastically or anything, but my clothes keep fitting looser and looser. I don't really exercise alot and everyone keeps asking me how I'm doing it. I honestly don't know! LOL. The only thing I can think of is that I totally ignore the nutrition facts/guide. I only ever look at the ingredients, try to eat organic as much as possible, and try to avoid white sugars and flours, and partially hydrogenated oils. I still eat greens and blues, but I definitely consume more of the reds and golds. Fat grams, calories, and all the rest of it I just ignore. GIGO.

I have the sunglasses and they really work..
but mine are red.
I didn't want just pink, because I figured it wouldn't be strong enough. I thought red would be better?

Does anyone know if it matters?

I was 135 lbs. and now I am 105lbs.
I lost the weight in about two weeks and have kept it off just by using the sunglasses, and adding at least one red thing to my diet everyday.
I use my red glasses to drink from for everything I drink.
I know it is not following the diet exactly, but it works for me. I don't want to lose anymore I just want to maintain.

Oooookay, that's weird and interesting cause I thought that it wasn't going to work if you stopped. You know what else I wondered about? If you lose all of that weight so quickly, what about muscles tone and loose skin AND the all important: do you lose weight from your breasts?
It's good to hear that the color diet worked for you guys and in the way that it has. I still kind of nervous about doing it.

Well, I certainly didn't gain any muscle tone, nor have I had a problem with loose skin. I just kind of got a little slimmer around my trouble areas, like tummy, thighs, and arms, but the tone of my muscles stayed the same, I think. I must admit I never even considered tone. The weight loss was all pretty even. And I didn't experience reduction in breast size either, however, to be fair, I just don't gain or lose weight there at all. And don't forget, I said I didn't exercise a lot, not not at all. I usually try to walk for at least a half an hour everyday (yes, that is my idea of exercise ) but I was doing that long before I even started the diet. That might explain the muscle tone issue. A note from page 241 of Star Signs (the trade paperback) "You'll be amazed at how swiftly this color secret causes you to shed pounds, exactly where you need them to melt away, not in the wrong places." I admit that I did not do the diet appropriately, and therefore I cannot explain how my body has managed to accomplish this. Maybe it has to do with programming the brain ... maybe I just believed it (and still believe it) so much that the little steps I take make a slight difference over time for me. I'm not at my ideal weight yet, and I do plan to try out the diet again, but I think the most important thing for me was to not fear the calories or fat grams or whatever in my food. I've made a serious effort to reprogram my mind about that sort of stuff. I dunno'. I guess it could be a lot of things, but I would think that, if my aura imbalance occurred over years of believing the wrong things and thus eating the wrong things, then improvements (although maybe not a complete balance) can be achieved by reversing my thinking and eating habits, and also the colors I choose to surround myself with. That's another thing, I guess. I made a concerted effort to follow as much of the advice I could from "An Apple a Day." Sorry if this reads like one long ramble of tangents. I'm sleepy. Goodnight All.

No, Eleanore is right I did not have trouble with flabby skin, muscle tone or breasts. I did not really exercise either.

I didn't even weigh myself, until I noticed that my clothes were a little baggy,
I mainly went on the diet to loose weight from having babies...
