Hi Cheryll, Welcome!I know little about your disease, and you don't specify what kind of headaches you get... this point is important, as headaches have many causes, and you do want to get down to the cause, instead of being dependent on meds for crushing your symptoms, right? Here's a site that offers some info, much of which I'm sure you know: Holistic Tips for Thalassemia http://www.moondragon.org/obgyn/anemia/anemiaholistic.html I Googled "holistic headache remedy" and found a lot. Here are a couple that look promising: Ayurvedic Herbal Headache remedies http://www.ayurveda-herbal-remedy.com/home-remedies/headache.html Ginger Paste (or drink) for neuralgia http://www.holistic-online.com/Herbal-Med/Remedies/hol_herbal-tonics-ginger-hea dache-remedy.htm I used to get many migraines, but cutting cow dairy to a minimum worked wonders for me. Otherwise it was a dark room for hours, with other unpleasant symptoms, so I sympathize with you! Note to N_wEvil: I know, I know, I seem to have ginger on the brain. Must be a karmic co-inkydink. Here's one more site, about anemia headaches http://www.scinfo.org/headache.htm From what I've just read, I think you really need to discover the cause before you seek any old remedy. And change doctors if the only thing yours can do for you is prescribe meds for the headaches, if they're frequent. Maybe acupuncture would help, too. Good luck!

Hey Lunargirl, thanks for the websites, i will check them out About changing the doctor part, all doctors in UK are pretty much the same...It took them about a year to finally realise what was actually wrong with me, they thought i had anemia and gave me iron tabs, they didnt work, because my iron levels are fine. as for the headaches, they gave me pain killers and they stopped working after a while, so what they did after was that they gave antidepressants, just on a lower dose. Anyway, thanks a lot for your help IP: Logged | |
