I've been doing a series of exercise known as The Five Tibetan Rites with some pretty good results. Has anyone else tried them and if so, what have your results been?

Hello Brett and welcome to Lindaland. I'm not sure which rites you are talking about, but I would like to hear more. Would you care to share some of the ideas?

Hi Brett

I have been doing the Five Tibetans for 3 years. I started them because I have several endocrine disorders, especially chronic Cushing's disease. The FT are meant to balance the endocrine system (I also see a homoeopath and use solar therapy).

I have only been able to increase repetitions VERY slowly, as Cushing's severely weakens the muscles and bones. I am only up to 12 reps per day.

However, I think they do make a difference; I have lost a little weight and toned my muscles. Since starting them, my muscles have improved to the point where I can do small amounts of regular aerobic exercise, I have cut my meds by 75%, sleep better and am less depressed.

I have an old back injury and since doing the FT my back is 90-98% pain-free with no osteopath visits. Sometimes I would get pain doing the exercises, but there always seemed to be a "payoff" later, with increased flexibility and energy - a bit like having a deep intense massage.

They are meant to make you look younger: I don't think I look different, but a lady at a church function I went to thought I was in my early 20s, which is about 15 years off, and a friend who went overseas for several years said I was the only person who hadn't aged in that time. So maybe it has had an effect.

I am definitely keeping it up, because it has encouraged me to make positive changes to my health in other areas.

these rites opened me up to lots of new realities, on many different levels.

i haven't done them in many years, but will be starting them again soon.

i have to start very slowly too, as my body is very out of tune....probably no more than 3 repetitions to begin....but even this will be soooo beneficial.

What are the five tibetan rites? I'm been perrenially plagued by an eviscerating back problem for years. I've refused the powerful pain meds because they tend to make me dependant. All they do is ameliorate the symptoms. Any info or elucidation, exposition on this topic would be greatly, greatly appreciated

Hello, everyone. FishKitten, the link that desert-rain provided is exactly the same exercises I'm doing. I've been doing them since August and I really can tell the biggest difference in myself. As PiscesMoon said, I'm sleeping very soundly and I wake up better. My body is toning up rather nicely and for the first time in my life, I'm developing those six-pack abs!!! I'd read the testimonials in the Peter Kelder book and took it with a grain of salt. Believe me, you actually do start to look differently......a sort of glow to the skin and the muscles in the face become firm. The only problem I had was trying to do the full 21 repetitions within the first month. You must ABSOLUTELY build up to the full 21!!! I tried to do more and wound up very sore. I let myself build up slowly and now I feel like great all the time. I've been all around the usual fall flu and virus bugs and I haven't had either. Just try them and I think you will be glad you did.

I get dizzy doing the spinning, so it isn't for me.

hi Randall ~

so you just start with very few repetitions and work up....3 repetitions of spinning won't make you dizzy.

Hi everyone. After a long time without posting here, I´m back again, if you welcome me, of course. It´s great for me to be here with you all and see there are new knowflakes sharing their experiences.

About the 5 rites, they really work. Althought I´m young, I practice them everyday. And my 21 repetitions have been easy for me since the 6th week after starting those. I wish you all reach the good results those exercises can offer.

Light for you.
