Anyone deal with it? No matter how tired I am, as soon as my head hits the pillow. I'm wide awake and I cant shut my mind off. Any recommendations? Thank you.

I hear ya 26! I was there with you, not so long ago with this insomnia thing ~ it's awful, I know.

Since I only had mys-Elf with me to make it better. I decided on an outlet. Mine was LindaLand when I could log on and the wireless connection wasn't asleep! You've possibly done that already.

Another, an artistic outlet. I know you're very creative and have an ever expansive/ing mind. I've seen you're art, it's trully amazing. I look forward to reading your poetry too.

Poetry was the one for me. Or maybe not so much poetry - but letting the words flow - all your thoughts, emotions, wants and needs - all out there for you to look at. It made me feel like someone had listened.

Also I focused on the next step. Following the survival instincts. Expending that energy on what to do next. Planning the next move out of a situation. That should tire you - whatever you do don't worry - I know you know that; http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum7/HTML/004162.html

I've taken to talking to my angels / guides more than usual as well. Asking for direction - I'm smiling here because somehow I know you know that too; http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum7/HTML/004106.html

You're practically an expert T!

Use that sleepless energy on ordaining and you'll be well on your way.

As well as asking - I've been having baths before bed, cleansing my aura before sleep no matter how tired I am. My little ritual now includes bathing - fresh bed clothes, turning on the radio softly to a soothing 'talk' programme, lighting candles, dim lights, (sometimes incense), and opening Gooberz at a random page.

It works a treat.

On occasion I'll have warm milk (I'm aware of Gia's article about milk http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/000833.html ) On this occasion, maybe a little Bull's Milk may help? http://www.drinksmixer.com/drink1649.html

Also.. relax and Know that everything will be alright in the end (and the beginning, and the midddle) soon

Sleep well you lovesome bull!

Yes! Ive been up until 4am lately. I try to lay down earlier but always I dont end up falling asleep until around 4am if at all.

I remember watching the commedienne Wanda Sykes and she hit the nail right on the head regarding women and insomnia. She says we think to much and one thought tends to lead into another completly different thought and our minds just keep going and going. Like "wow, I wasnt that skinny since 3rd grade, I hated my third grade teacher, speaking of teachers I cant stand my psychology professor Dr. Johnson, I wonder how my friend Mary Johnson is doing....."

I think its odd too that Ive been having trouble sleeping because I was a big pop drinker but Ive been clean for 3 days now, i have had no caffine for 3 days. You'd think I'd be sleeping better.

Thank you ladies.

This has been going on for so long, I'm kind of used to it now. But it is still bothersome.

Sheaa , Yes, maybe I should do a little relaxing ritual before bed. I notice when I am in bed, I'm tense without even really realizing it. My shoulders are usually tensed up, so I start with my feet and visualise each muscle relaxing as I go up my body. I find I'm tapping my foot alot as well, with out even realizing it. When I notice it, I stop, but it makes me wonder....

Thanx for listening. I know you had sleep problems too. Sounds like you are getting some relief. Good to hear. (I emailed you back BTW. Just want to make sure you got it, you dont have to reply. )

*goes off to make some Bull milk* LOL That should do the trick.

miss apples,

That is great that you've quit your pop drinking. It really is not good for you. Maybe once in awhile, but it's really no good.

LOL! That's so true what Wanda Sykes said. Us women and our spiraling minds. *sigh*

Wishing you good night sleeps as well. (((hugs)))

Hey angel, I hope you find some peace soon. I did get your email, though I haven't read it properly as yet, and I want to before replying to do it justice!

Just a quick note in case I forget later ~ I was just reading the thread about Saturn in Astro forum - and just noticed mine is in Virgo! I don't know if it's relevant but will speak to you most likely after this weekend is through. I've still got tons of packing to do before my father collects me tonight!

Love to you sugar

Hey miss_apples! *waving*

Thanks Taurus, yep no pop for me unless we go out or unless we are having "fun food" like pizza or something. Other than that, water and herbal tea for me

I actually think one of the reasons I stay up so late is because late at night is really the only time I have to myself. So after my kids and the man go to bed, I stay up and have some time to myself, and sometimes it goes into the wee hours of the night. Then when I do try to go to bed I get that mind spiraling thing on top of it. Grrrr....lol

It took me quite a while to figure this out. I would get what I call the heebee jeebees. It felt like I was loaded with caffine, although I hadn't had any. I couldn't stand being in the bed, the covers rubbing against my skin would drive me nuts! Recently I realized that in the winter, my skin is dry. It became soooo sensitive the covers touching it would drive me nuts! The culprit? FORCED HOT AIR!!! Solution, a humidifier. A nice moisturizing bath doesn't hurt either! Just my 2 cents!

26T, you and I both! I have a lot of nervous energy that keeps me going till 4 AM. Not goooood. I cut out soda and huge snacks after about 6 PM and that's helped a bit, although I still want to eat half a bag of tortillas and salsa at like 2 AM anyway hahaha.

I found a 69 cent box of chamomile tea at Price Rite last night, tried some, and totally passed right out for once. So that might help!

I also take a warm bath every now and then a few hours before bed. For me the scents I use don't make a difference, I mean none of them keep me wide awake, but I've found eucalyptus/mint bubble bath clears my head.

Yay! So I know those work for me, I hope at least something helps! Some nights I just can't get myself in bed no matter what I do haha!

To all sleepless people out there!

Try a really good chiropractor! Strangely enough, a good adjustment to your whole spine can leave you sleeping like a baby sooner than later.

Excuse my lack of better words but...the place that registers that you are tired, and sends signals to your brain telling it to shut down, is situated at the back of your neck at the base of your skull. When this is not aligned with your spine, you cannot 'switch off'.

I suffered from insomnia for a very long time and was surprised at how quickly i could fall asleep after having an adjustment.

give it a shot!

Wow! Interesting all! Thank you.

Philbird, we have forced hot air as well...hmmmm......bet that's why my skin's been dry. (well, one of the reasons. It IS winter here)

VTT, OMG. I could live on tortillas and salsa! I'll have to try the tea. I'm not a huge tea drinker by nature, but I'll try it.

Hello Tamaryn! Welcome. Wow, I'd never heard of going to a chiropractor for sleep problems. But that makes total sense. Also my upper back and neck are all screwed up. I hold all of my tention up there. I'm always cracking my neck (Taurus Sun). I've never been to one, so I'll look into it sometime. Good to know! Thanks.
