I read about it in the nature's alternatives website and it sounds like a wonder vitamin claiming to help almost any common minor health problem. I mentioned it to my sister and she said that my dad had taken it a long time ago and developed a dependance to it. Has or does anyone have any experience with it? It also said it aids in cellular regeneration so would it be useful to the practicing immortal?IP: Logged |

Methylsulphonylmethane MSM, also sometimes known as dimethlysulfone is a natural sulfur compound found in plants and animal tissues. It is naturally present in fresh fish, plants, fruits, and a small amount in milk. In processed foods it is not found at all because it gets eliminated with heat, drying or even just moderate processing. Most people therefore would probably benefit somewhat from supplementation. It has some remarkable properties and helps to detoxify the body on a cellular level. It helps allergies, arthritis, muscle pain and some people say it does wonders for the skin and hair. Natrol produces a good MSM supplement which I take. It takes a couple of months to see and feel a difference. Dosage is around 2,000 milligrams a day. Follow instructions on the lable. It is not habit forming so I'm confused why he became dependant. Could it be he just felt better? Gia IP: Logged |

I take it. My mother gave me a big bottle of MSM awhile back. It's from Nutraceutical Sciences Institute, 1000mg. She said said the exact things you just said about it Gia. It does do wonders for my skin.MSM is also in those E-mergenC vitamin C drink powder mixes. I love those things. I drink the raspberry ones all the time. IP: Logged |

hi, i've wanted to ask about msm here for a while...glad it's here now.i thought i had read somewhere that it was good for thyroid issues. but i can't find that article now. aslo that it works wonder for fibromyalgia. i was taking it in powder form with vitamin c crystals, as i'd read that c does help increase msm absorption and enhances it. also that it is detoxifying and can actually make you feel worse for a while unless you start with small doses throughout the day. for this reason too that it was not recommended for nursing mothers, in that the detoxing present in the blood might be passed onto baby through mama's milk. so i started with very small amounts, to increase gradually...but have discontinued use lately. needed more information... I have never felt the need to take it constantly. I always give my body a break. I'll take it for a few months and then stop, leave for a few months and then resume. I personally feel better doing it this way.Anybody else feel better doing it this way? I take a great green food which has similar natural compounds in it, so I don't feel the need to overdo the MSM. Ha! I was going to mention that I also take these pills called "Perfect Food ~ Super Green Formula" by Garden of Life. It's a powerful whole food formula that provides the nutritional equivilant of 5-10 vegetable servings. I contains anitoxidants, green grasses, micro-algae, sea vegatables, whole vegetables and their juices, sprouted grainsv seeds, legumes and acerola cherries.I have been using my MSM sparingly because I'm almost out. I notice I feel better when I take it more often though. But that's only because I really dont eat right. I'm not eating as healthily as I should be. I also take some pills from Metagenics. I dont know if you've heard of them, but my mom gets alot of stuff from them and sends me some of it. I'm currently taking (on and off) Metagest, EPA-DHA extra strenght (from cold water fish), CandiBactin-AR and CandiBactin-BR. I ususally just trust whatever she sends my way. She is always talking about candida and how people are loaded with yeast. Is the green food you take a pill or a drink Gia? IP: Logged |

Thanks for all the responses and suggestions I was just wondering because what I read about it just seemed like one of those all purpose salves from the 10s' and 20s' or something but I will try it. I haven't talked to my dad about it yet but he's one of those ultra paranoid types and he has unusually strong mind power. And everyone knows that fear is stronger than hope so he probably just made it seem that way to himself because he's in fantastic shape, he rides his bike to and from work every day about 15 miles each way for the past 11 years.IP: Logged |

I take the powder when I'm at home, but when I travel it's easier to take Sun Chlorella Tablets. Sun Chlorella compared to other strains have the richest form of nutrients. They do not process using heat or chemicals. There is a huge difference between heated and unheated chlorella cells in digestability. If you wish to take the tablets you need to take this product. It contains 60% protein, 18 amino acids and loads of vitamins and minerals. It contain the largest amount of nucleo peptide complex found in ANY chlorella cell. Talk about a must for those anti aging immortals! It is a wonderful natural detox. Great for skin and hair. It's like taking in SUN. However sadly, it is one of the most expensive brands you can buy. I take it now and then to supplement Green Vibrance. Gia IP: Logged |
