I'vw had an ongoing upset stomach for almost 3 weeks now...nothing stays in me long, and usually comes through me watery or gooey, sometimes greenish. My aunt thinks I may have messed up the flora and fauna in my body, or something like that, and need more of this thing called Acidophilus. She says it's typically found in yougart...does that sound right? Anyone had a similar experience?problem is I can get anything like that until tomorrow...I'm sick, so yucky right now...to top it off, paiunful time-of-month cramps. Just kill me now... ------------------ -K "Most people love with restraint As if they were someday to hate We hated gently, carefully As if we were someday to love"-Venus Trines at Midnight IP: Logged |

That sucks. Yeah acidopholis (sp) are billions of live enzymes that are necessary in proper function of the stomach and colon.. also the pH and working condition (yeasties) of the V-word. (that means vagina) Yogurt is a great natural source, but make sure it says it contains live active cultures... there is another word as well as acidopholus.... Gia can let you know.. this is one of those cases where yes, I know.. but all the terms ? Nup. Damn my broad knowledge. Antibiotics interfere with their natural proliferation in your body.. *they are necessary* as they kill all bacteria. good and bad. Always eat more yogurt ( and certain types of greens.. once again, Gia?)when you are on them, or any medication really.... as long as dairy is okay.. even people with dairy sensitivity can be okay with yogurt. You have been nervous lately, haven't you? I get 'loose' when I am on my period as well. It's usually a happy relief for me. Yay to increased blood flow.Oh.. remember, if you are taking acidopholus supplements, they are live, so place them in the fridge once they are opened. When I go on antibiotics ( unfortunately a lot with my teeth this winter.. ) I always eat more active culture yogurt and take supplements.... I don't like yeasties... I only got my first yeast infection a few years ago, I was like "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" So naturally I try to avoid them at all costs. That's really poopy that you are feeling like crap. *sorry, I wanted to say it that way* IP: Logged |

Yeah, but I haven't been on any anitbiotics as we have no medical insurance for anything...maybe it has to be the stress...and nerves.See, I'm fine when the "looseness" comes with my period, which I expect, but it's been going on too long before this... Thanks for replying IP: Logged |

I just used the commonality of antibiotics for reference. Get to the bottom (oh, pun!) of the affliction, but still.. acidopholus is a good thing for what you got going on......IP: Logged | |
