This amazes me because the Pro-Life people were always complaining that their tax payments were supporting abortion clinics which they didn't agree on, now they are doing the very same thing they criticized the abortion clinics for doing.

I have just read and signed the petition: "Stop Fake "Clinics" from Deceiving Women"

Please take a moment to read about this important issue, and join me in signing the petition. It takes just 30 seconds, but can truly make a difference. We are trying to reach 50,000 signatures - please sign here:

So-called "crisis pregnancy centers" are rapidly appearing across the nation — a deceitful new tactic of the anti-choice movement to keep women from getting the accurate education and health services they seek.

These fake "clinics" often masquerade as health centers offering the full range of reproductive health services, when their only real purpose is to keep women from exercising their right to choice and family planning.

They lure unsuspecting women with the offer of free pregnancy testing or HIV tests. Once inside, the "clinic" staff--usually volunteers with no training -- try to dissuade women from exercising their right to choose by subjecting them to inaccurate, anti-choice propaganda and intimidation.

The worst part? Your tax dollars are funding "crisis pregnancy centers" to the tune of $60 million.

A new bill in Congress, the "Stop Deceptive Advertising for Women's Services Act" (H.R.5052), would stop "crisis pregnancy centers" from deceiving women. Urge your representative to support this important bill!

Thank you for making a difference today,

I have a belief of when life actully begins, and I know that each person has their own ideas on the matter.

In my mind that makes it a personal choice.

I am pro choice because backstreet illegal abortion causes more death and heartache than legal abortion, and the pro lifers can keep their rosaries offa my ovaries.

Only my goddess can judge me. I dont think I could abort personally, but never having been pregnant is not a choice i have ever had to face. However I do not expect others to live by my standards, only I can attempt that.

I don't know how big an issue this really is about how one personally feels about abortion.
The question here is whether or not it is okay for people to pretend to be health professionals and misinform people concerning their health and their legal rights. The question of morality about abortion here doesn't really apply. As wrong as abortion may seem to many, it is still a protected legal right in this country. If you have a problem with that then take it up with your Senators and Representatives and the courts, yada yada. But don't support other people who are basically commiting medical fraud and stealing taxpayers dollars.
I mean, think about it ... who are those relgious people that are morally and religiously against blood transfusions? The Mormons? Jehovah's Witnesses? Well, whomever they are ... imagine if they opened up a "hospital" that tried to dissuade people and their family members from getting blood transfusions in life or death situations? Regardless about how you feel about blood transfusions on a moral and religious level ... you must admit it's wrong for people to pretend to be health professionals and mislead patients for their own personal agenda. No?

Eleanore,

You're right. It's not about pro-life or pro-choice; it's about medical deception.
