Hi everyone, just a couple of days ago I tried dying my dark brown hair red, well someone told me that if I put a really light blonde on it, it would turn it really red. Well I did just that I put a couple of boxes of golden blonde on my dark hair and it did kind of turn it red, more like a funky red brown. Can any of you ladys tell me what I can use to really bring out the red, I mean more of an auburn color(and without bleaching that is a nightmare for me)Thanks!

I would put a temporary color on for now. No more chemical dyes, they will mess up you hair, more. THey have some with conditioner in them.

Do you have a Sally Beauty Supply near you?

I have dark brown hair and went in to ask because I was also wanting to add some red/auburn tones without it being really red. She told me to use Preference by L'Oreal, take a 1 oz. bottle of medium brown and a 1 oz. bottle of auburn, mix 1/2 of each bottle with 2 oz. of 20 creme developer. Apply to hair. I loved the results.

Before you do though, deep condition your hair and let it rest before coloring again.

By nature I have medium to dark brown hair. My hair will not hold red! I look good with Auburn hair, but it just washes out.

My whole family greys prematurely, so I have a different color problem. How do I keep the white light & the dark brown or red. I don't have the money for professional colors each time.

So I'd also like to know what to do or use. I have this Bride of Frankenstein thing going. My front has streaks of white, but there's still a little brown. If I go lighter than the browns shows. If I go darker than the white shows.

I need help too.
