This book has been reproduced online, and you can read it for free. The author had worked in the food industry, and was blackballed because of his attempts to make processed foods more nutritious.Read this book only if you are ready to change the way you eat, look at food, and regard the food industry. Here is a telling one paragraph excerpt: quote: One of the projects I worked on at Quaker was the development of a soy protein snack bar. The idea was to design a product so that two of these bars would provide a person with all the protein he or she would need for breakfast. After very little work we found that it was easy to make a good tasting, nutritional breakfast bar. After I worked on the bars, they were so filling and satisfying, a person couldn't finish more than one at a meal. This meant that a box of breakfast bars might last a family a week. That would be bad for sales. The project was dropped immediately. It was determined that people would not buy enough of the product to generate the large profit margin Quaker wanted. They wanted a cheap product that would have phenomenal sales.

God that makes me angry. Not surprised ... just angry. If I were to tell someone this story, they'd say I was a conspiracy nut.IP: Logged |

hey hey hey tink!!!!****grinning from ear to ear**** i started a thread sending out greetings, and then i saw your birthday thread- so happy birthday to you!! (it seems like 70% of lindaland are scorpios.) i have been in the wilds of wyoming for three years. seriously- from an overlook nearby, you could look over the most isolated area in the continental US. there was no cell phone service nor internet access where i lived. i ended up with a really good job there- me, a boss!- but i am growing tired of the isolation and the really, really low pay. so i saved up my money this summer, and i am in oregon looking to relocate. i still am technically employeed, i am just on break- so i can go back to the park if i want. its not a good time to plan the future, during merc rx. so how are things, tink? what's going on? see any faeries yet? The wilds of Wyoming .. love it! How did you feel about the isolation? Is it as conducive to a major epiphiny as they say? More importantly, did you see any bears? About the elusive faerie folk ... as a matter of fact I did. He showed up at exactly 2:23 in the afternoon of September 29th. I waited around for him for about 14 hours. Oy! He's pretty cute. I kinda like him. Eats a lot though. IP: Logged |

Tink Most babies choose to come into this world under cover of the night. The rare babe born in the afternoon will have his sun high in his chart, and will have many unique experiences in his life. He will, in fact, be a highly unique individual. But I already knew he would be, with you for a mom. I plan to buy the other books by Paul Stitt, the man from whose book I quoted in the original post. Nutrition, health, etc. have become a passion of mine. ------------------ Everything feels possible. Perhaps more is possible than we think. -P.H. IP: Logged |

Does it really? Try though I might, I'm still astrologically impaired. I'm thinking about having his chart done. Forewarned is forearmed, you know? IP: Logged |
