i found this concoction in a very cute little book called Spa Mama.mix 1 tablespoon of pure vegetable glycerin, 1 tablespoon of almond oil, and 1 teaspoon of apple juice together.
i haven't added the apple juice yet, just mixed a little glycerin and almond oil together in my hand and applied to face.
and omg, this is the most awesome stuff! i applied this before bed and awoke with dewey fresh and soft skin. my skin is dry and chapped from the chilly weather and indoor heat. so i splurged on the vegetable glycerin...available at good natural markets...NOW is an inexpensive brand. and i'm amazed -- after one use.
a humidifier might help as well...but too much $$ at the moment.
i must take the time to make up the mixture with the apple juice, which is supposed to smooth and erase fine lines. i will try it soon.
but i thought i'd mention this anyway, as already i've noticed amazing results. wonderful effect on dry and chapped lips too -- softens, and the moisture stays. i massage the excess into my hands with the same results...so smooth and soft. a noticeable difference.
some nice additional ingredients would be coconut oil, vitamin e oil and orange essential oil. and/or rose otto/absolute oil.
adding rose oil would make this moisturizer soooo healing and effective. i can't imagine anything better, and i have tried a lot of the more expensive commercial brands.
the vegetable glycerine is amazing....try this if you have dry winter skin. i would think it's good for any skin type. it's very light -- not at all oily. a very delightful winter treat! and i'm sure it will be just as great year round -- excellent discovery for the new year.
