Alright, we all know that stress is an incredibly unhealthy aspect of life. And we all go through times of intense stress. So I would like to start this topic about how to deal with it. I personally am stressed out beyond belief and my systems are all down. I don't have time for yoga, sleep, meditation, or any truely recooperative ritual. So does anyone have any advice on how to deal with this crises for the next couple of weeks (then I should be able to focus more on myself) before the damage becomes too great? I would like to leave this topic open to any input at all about stress and how to deal and the effects of of.I would also like to mention that all change is stress, whether for the good or the bad, it is stress. Love and light to ALL! TMC IP: Logged |

If you dont have time to do yoga and meditation and nothing really, then how about taking deep breaths and try to reorient yourself where you exactly are standing when you get that rush of stress. Try to ground yourself and feel how you REALLY feel, and that nothing is such a big deal that it is worth your very own health

Many years ago, i was having little time for necessary sleep or nutritional upkeeping yadda stressfulyadda this is what i did: feel a light come down from above your crown and continue through the spinal cord through you and into the ground. Do this even if you are not near the earth and 36 floors up some cement and steel structure or if sitting... Let that wonderful root foscus its intent on sturdiness and the enabling of nutrients to and through you. Feel them feed you. feel yourself absorbing what you need in every little cell of your body. Feel yourself exude wastful chemicals and sludge from every cell. Drink a little clear liquid Use the bathroom. Stretch. ====== Also like the darlings are posting, BREATHE! Make a point of pulling your shoulders DOWN! You may be surprised to find them lower as many as 6 " ! Stress! Brush your teeth with something strong and minty. Tatse something very bitter or very sour! Hope to help, lovingly, Tuxedo MeowIP: Logged |

oh yes...that one's very good tuxedo meow...light and breathing... a quick one that always works well, esp in situations such as abuse or emotional attack, is to feel a strong violet light move its way up your spine. feel the heat and the encompassing sensation of the deep violet light running up and down your spine, up to your skull. as you do this, repeat silently or aloud ~ *** Be still, and know that i am God *** (or goddess or spirit, etc...) this one is a life saver. i learned this from Barbara Ann Brennan's book, Hands of Light. ah thanks guys. Your info has been helping. I have been using aromatherapy (frankicense) in my shower in the morning, and i have focused on deep pranic breathing when possible. I also listen to very soothing spiritual music whenever I can. For a few years now I have been using Bach's Rescue Remedy. I just began using lavender bath salt scrubs at night in my bath. Prayer and tears seem to provide some relief. I am experiencing a few different types of stress right now. I am incredibly stressed out with work; I work in retail and this time of year is very difficult and I am being taken advantage of by my associates and my manager. I am being pyschically attacked by more than one person. I am trying to persaude the local University to accept me... since I schooled myself the last two years of highschool they are having a hard time looking at my unofficial records. I am also dealing with a new relationship, and some past abuse issues are coming up and interfering with my comfort levels. And to top it off my mother is going through a sever depression. But, it could be worse! I am still profoundly open to suggestions here. I also just want this to be helpful to anyone who is suffering right now. I count myself very lucky that nothing more extreme (such as death, divorce, terminal illness, etc.) is plaguing me. lightFULLy, TMC IP: Logged |

dear TMC ~it's also a stressful time of the year. you have a lot of things going on at once; i sympathize. the lavender is very good. an intensive lavender therapy is placing a few drops of the essential oil on some cotton. carry this with you, in a pocket, or tucked in your clothing somewhere. frequently place the infused cotton close to your face and inhale. works extremely well! and have you tried the individual bach essences? there are some beyond rescue remedy that will be more specific to your situation, that can help even more. gorse is one that comes to mind. some others that appear applicable to your circumstances ~ chicory agrimony larch willow elm white chestnut and another little exercise...this one is from a book about psychic vampires, written by a scholar, from a research point of view. the heart of the matter with this, is to protect and maintain your energy supply. do not allow it to drain away. this is very important; it can have serious health and emotional consequences. establish a connection to the universal energy source, that is always available, in infinite abundance. keep this connection, and this energy, flowing unobstructed through your body continually. this is a quick and simple, yet VERY effective method ~ hold your arms above your head with palms facing upward. through one of your palms, feel the dingy, clouded energy stuck in your system flow up and out. cleanse your system of this sluggish energy. as this energy flows out, feel pure golden light energy, from above, flowing into your other palm. concentrate on this energy flooding your system, rushing through and filling up all your veins and arteries, coursing through your blood, rinsing through you. feel the strength and power of this fresh energy flowing through, dissolving all blockages in your systems. feel all these blockages flow up and out of the exit palm. let this fresh, exhilerating energy flow unimpeded for a few moments, until you feel it literally bursting through your body, its flow powerful and bright. when you feel that all the tainted energy is released from your system, and that you are filled with flowing golden light energy, bring your arms down and place your palms togther in prayer fashion, pointing upward. hold your forearms parallel to the ground and stand this way for a few moments as you ground yourself. what this does is to create a closed circuit in your body, through which all this fresh, clean energy can travel. feel it again as it washes through you, unimpeded, pure light flowing through all your veins and meridians. this circuit will keep the energy flowing and strong, and from getting stuck and stagnant, or escaping. this exercise doesn't take as long as it sounds....try to repeat this every day, during a shower is excellent. it is like an energy shower -- along with the water it will cleanse and rejuvenate you. the important thing is knowing that you have an unending supply and connection with the universal energy source. accessing this connection daily will render you immune to psychic energy drains. it will keep you strong and healthy. and finally, though you may do this already, i still will add -- crystals will surround you with divine energy and protection as well. find some solid quartz crystals and amethysts and keep them around you. carry them in your handbag or pocket, and keep them close when sleeping. (rose quartz and lapis are very effective also.) wow ~ i hope that some of this will bring you comfort, strength and well-being. sending love, light and blessings from naiad IP: Logged |

wow naiad thank you That exercise was incredibly helpful! I just performed it after taking a very long shower when I got home from work. I think it is interesting that you mention crystals...I have a bunch of them on my window sill ( I find that keeping them on the window still keeps them constatly cleansed by the sun and air). I should get more amythests...I have a whole crew sitting there: amethyst, rose quarts, clear quartz, malachite, citrine, jasper, bloodstone, selenite, smoky quartz, obsidian, azurite, carnelian, moonstone, chrysocolla, sodolite, and clacite (I have much more but these are the ones in my eyeline). I should probably remove the obsidian. I just recently bought a Tiger's Eye ball that is stunning...I should cleanse it and work with it since I feel it really called to me thanks, TMC IP: Logged |

hi TMC ~i'm so pleased that this worked well for you. i had a feeling that you had crystal energy around you...and oh, tiger's eye crystals are stunning. isn't it great when you get such a strong sense of energy calling you? i forgot to mention one of the strongest crystals in helping with negative psychic energies. it is black tourmaline. the following is from a book full of very straightforward and effective material, called 'Thorsons Way of Psychic Protection' ~ wearing a black tourmaline crystal around your neck is an effective way of dealing with psychic attack. it deflects and transmutes the energy, blocking it from reaching you. black tourmaline is not expensive...it has an interesting look and texture, shiny with reassuring striations. i wore it around my neck to great effect. i always kept a few in my bag, the different rooms of my house...i don't however have this crystal these days, as i was always compelled to give mine away. i feel that the crystals let their energy work through me, finding their way to those who needed them. another crystal that i find very powerful in strength and protective qualities is turqouise. i keep a few of these in my pockets and hand bags as well, most of the time. hehe, this may sound very simple, but one of the best remedies for stress, psychic and otherwise, is a steaming cup o' tea! it wraps you in healing comfort and is a sure tonic for the soul. herbal, black, green, white...the varieties all have their individual merits. i keep a variety at hand, and choose according to the tea's energy that calls to me. currently i have chai, earl grey, dareeling, and ginger lemon. earl grey is one of my all time favorites...i love its hint of bergamot. i prefer brewing tea from the leaves in a teapot, but these days tea bags are more accessible. my favorite brand is Twinings...even more so than the more expensive brands. i tried a more expensive brand of earl grey, and found myself on a trip to the market a little later to gather the unsurpassed twinings. ok, tea is my passion, lol, sorry to wax on about it. naiad IP: Logged |

Hello You don't have time for sleep? How many hours do you sleep each night on average recently? Boy, you'd need some sleep Do you like swimming? If you do, it's a lovely way to relax and release all the tense stress. If not, you might like to try others- a walk in the woods once in a while when you've got the time & the mood...anything that brings you back to the beautiful Mother nature. I would recommend aromatherapy also, although I'm not very knowledgeable about it. You may already have tried aroma oil baths- it's heavenly! Herbal teas, different ones for different purposes, are great as well Best of luck IP: Logged |

I think we feel the collective stress of all people during this holiday season. I know I feel it too. It feels like i am on a treadmill and going no-where. I try to just remember to let it pass thru me like i am a screen door instead of taking it all in and holding it. Its a mental exercise I try to do. It can help. I am enjoying reading other people's answers here too.IP: Logged |

Picked up some more Rescue Remedy today.just found out the essences used for depression are: (thought some here might like to know) Yellow Flower Bush (depression and stress) http://www.nmessences.com/essences/yel_fl_bush.html it fills this role in the New Millennium “Depression” Super-Essence, combining with ToeToe, Echium and Chrysanthemum to create a very powerful tool for helping depressed people and Gentian There may be some people for whom the depression is the real issue. But as with all journeys with flower remedies, what you realize is that what is presenting itself is not necessarily the real issue. So the essences that have really been revelations to me are the ones that brought out the realizations hidden underneath the depression. And there have been many different combinations that have helped, at different times, as my needs went. What medication seems to do is almost surgically remove the depression. When that happens it becomes very difficult to do the work of self-realization that truly results in long-term change. It's very difficult, on medication, to get at the stuff underneath. Going off medication and getting at the stuff underneath is no picnic, but at the moment I believe it's the only way to move beyond depression. This is something that some people who have gone off medication may not want to hear. Richard and Patricia said similar things at the class. The essences work in such a different way than drugs. They don't suppress the real issues. They bring them out. http://www.flowersociety.org/Depression_Interview.htm The rule of thumb of flower essence therapy is that they don't treat the symptom, it treats the human being. IP: Logged |

wow the energy in this thread is awesome The suggestions so far have been excellent and helpful. I definently want to keep this one open..all of you have great suggestions Naiad- what a wonderful suggestion about the black tourmaline! I will look into that asap. I have a turquoise necklace that I need to find..it has helped me a lot in the past. My eyes bugged out when I saw that picture you posted of the tiger's eye...mine looks almost exactly like that! Also the tea suggestion is perfect..I am going to make a cup now. My stress levels have gone down a bit thanks to you all and the supportive energy I am receiving. The last few days have nevertheless been extremely intense. I think the idea of swimming and/or walking is a very good one. Actually, the thought of swimming made me weak in the knees; I haven't been swimming in three years! I love swimming, as I am a cancer with a cancer moon. I find walking very relieving (sag rising) too. I only wished I lived in a more 'woodsey' enviroment (I am in Nevada). I should invest a little time and money into aromatherapy. In fact I think I have a book on it that I can dig out of my stuffed bookshelf. 26taurus-thanks for the info on flower essences, every bit helps! IP: Logged |

hello TMC ~happy that things are going ok for you. sending tea blessings of love. the black tourmaline is a crystal of serious protection. if you want powerful, that's the rock for you. the flower essences spark my sensitivity. i discovered a great book that i have, that i haven't referenced in quite a while. looking through it, i felt an enhanced awareness of the potency, and potential of flower essences. a lot of my own issues seemed to be flowing through this heightened communication with them. and the essences can and do communicate with you. the best information on plant healing i have is about plant 'dreaming'. it's the way shamans communicate with plants, in a dreamstate, in order for plants to appear and communicate their use for healing. all this information coming from the flower essences was a little overwhelming for me. i almost felt dizzy, and then rather tired. i've put the book aside for a day or two, in order to let the information assimilate, and be better prepared for what i find when i next look there. will do so as soon before christmas as i can. meow tuxedo must put in a suggestion to use the purple plates! A photo of the 'co-workers and manager' could be set on one- A quick christmas office photo over vanilla scented cookies? You snap photo! Put it on the plate! Zsuzsanna Budapest has a book called, I believe, Spells For the Office, is full of suggestions about relieving stress at the work place. Recently my grandkids and I gave someone a short ride home. When the person got in the car, my grandaughtr handed them the plate. The man's reaction was odd-he immediately tossed it away from himself. maybe it could help with that psychic attack stuff. HELP WITH as in conjunction with other stuff- Bless water and salt and circle your dwelling. Bless doorways, windows, radios, tvs, anything that lets "the outside in" If any of the people causing you negative stress or attacking you have given you anything-get rid of it, even temporarily- avoid anything they have touched. Never eat with them or, of course eat anything from them. (LOL one holiday, i received a box of Fannie May candy in the mail. i ran out into the street and handed it to someone going by on a bicycle!) Evil intent has no manners and you cannot when dealing with them either! so guess ill go nap now-tuxedo meowIP: Logged |

Purple plates--where do I get them? I totally forgot all about the power of purple plates, what a good idea! Yesterday I went to the local crystal shop and lo-and-behold they had a whole new basket filled with chunks of black tourmaline. It didn't take me too long to find a peice that I felt instantly atatched to...it is definently meant for me. I haven't had a chance to work with it yet.. I also bought a clear quartz pendant and a stirling silver chain to hang it on: it is stunning! I also feel particularily lucky because this same shop has very small tumbles of sugilite for only 50 cents so I bought a peice for myself. The energy was good when I bought them..my boyfriend helped me pick out the necklace and really supported me through the process of finding stones. He is very new to all of this so I helped him find some stones for himself too. And interesting note: he was very drawn to smoky quartz and obsidian I am dealing with all of this the best I can. I bought myself a faerie-lite candle today and I am burning it for myself. The next couple of days are going to be intense, but I think I will be able to make it through..i'd like to pass these trying times with flying colours... I have a salt scrub that is lavender scented that I like using at night because I feel that the salt dissolves negative energy and the lavender is calming. Sometimes breathing is the very best thing I can do for myself now. you guys are awesome..and of course more info is ALWAYS welcome..I think that all the knowledge accumulating here is very positive, keep it flowing IP: Logged |
