Even those the immediate urges to get pregnant have subsided, I'm still thinking it's quite possible that I may want to have a baby sometime in the near future. I was wondering of anyone had any info on how to maintain good uterine, cervical and vaginal health.

My info: I'm 35. I've been pregnant once but had an abortion at 4 weeks, and that was 14 years ago. I've never had a STD. I don't get yeast infections (the only one I have had was after my abortion). I have a manageable problem with anemia. I do have PCOS and insulin resistence, which I manage with a low carb diet and exercise. My periods tend to very regular but heavy, but if I stick to my diet and exercise regime, they go smoothly and without too much cramping.

A while back, a herbalist recommended grape seed extract for the scarring in my uterus from the abortion. I have been taking it on and off for 3 years now and I believe it has helped. I don't have the pains I used to have and my periods are a lot easier. (It's also seems to have helps with scarring elsewhere.)

But besides that I'm open to other suggestions. I picked up some folic acid today, after reading that helps cervical health. I also take as supplements (some daily, some on a rotating schedule and some only when I need it):

- a multivitamin
- trace minerals
- omega 3 fatty acids
- grape seed extract
- milk thistle
- Thyroid Support by Nature's Sunshine
- Brain Protex by Nature's Sunshine
- iron
- chromium
- cinnamom
- cayenne
- a fiber supplement

My diet right now is essentially two or three high protein meals a day, depending how hungry I am, as much veggies I feel like eating, and a few snacks like a bit of cheese or olives. I have to avoid starchy foods including beans. I'm very allergic to corn and tree nuts, and mildly allergic to soy. I usually eat some fruit too, but I was having some trouble with my blood sugar so I've been laying off them for the time being.

Anything anyone can recommend? I'm also looking at exercises to improve the strength of my vaginal muscles, so don't be too shy if you have any info on that.

You want info on how to strength your vaginal muscles? I got info...when your on the toilet urinating, stop every so often(meaning hold back the stream of urine for a couple of seconds)do this a few times it should help. Another thing is you can try Ben Wa Balls, they are a chinese form of masterbation that also helps strengthen your vaginal walls(you can find them at any online toy shop) Also I don't know if you've heard of the herb Vitex, but it's very good for vaginal health, along with Dang Gui Su. You might want to check to see if you an take these because there may be a reaction if your taking regular prescribed medicine.

Yeah, I've heard about Ben Wa balls. Never tried them. Maybe I should look into that.

What actually is Vitex? I'm in the know with herbs, but I've never heard of that. That sounds like a brand name - is it a blend?

Vitex is commonly known as just single Chaste Tree Berry(I take it for my female problems, like heavy periods)...does that ring a bell? I find that capsules work better than the liquid form, it's suppose to balance out the hormones in the body...calms my PMS really well.

Healing the base chakra through light and creative visualisation may help you GN.

My chakra closed down a while back and I was having thrush which was becoming a nuisance.

I went to a shaman healer and she helped me to open up the chakra again...to allow the energy to flow through and I never got problems there since. That was a couple of years ago!

Breathing in the colour red keeps the chakra vibrant and healthy.

I would also recommend accupuncture for all health conditions....I am amazed what it has done for me. Again the needles encourage blocked energy to flow around the body again, so we can be well....

Working as a healer myself, I realise the importance of allowing "light" into the body....we at times close places down, which can result in imbalance and illness.

My base chakra is by far my weakest and most blocked, obviously from my difficult childhood and general sens eof not having a "home" anywhere. I'm very unbalanced chakra-wise. Some are very strong while other are marginal. I have the most trouble with my base and throat chakras.

I used to do energy channeling meditation with crystals, where I would envision the energy from my strong chakra channeling through me and activating my weak chakras, using the crystals to guide and focus the energy. I haven't done that in a while. I should probably give it a try again - if I can find my crystals.

It's interesting that red is associated with the base chakra. I'm strongly attracted to rd. I liek to use in my home decor, my art work and my wardrobe.

I know a very good chinese medicine practitioner in Houston, but that's 800 miles from here. I don't trust doctors out here where I am right now. Besides I really can;t afford accupunture right now - but it's something I'm vey open to too, so if my financial situation improves that is a good option to have.

Even wearing red knickers or placing a piece of red cloth tucked into them helps...

Or stand feet apart and feel the colour red filling the whole of your base chakra.

I can feel it physically open up when I do this.

Maybe this will help:

Re; Ben Wa balls....

Meh.

I wouldn't call them a masturbation tool.. well, at least not a fun one. I was disappointed with their claim.. although I guess they make you clench and keep them there.
In terms of joy, I'd rather wear my vibrating panties while vacuuming and listening to heavy bass (I'm more into the clitoral orgasms in combination.. penetration is wicked good for deepening the sensations but not alone for getting mrs.'s rocks off.... but anyway........)

Kegels are great for pelvic tone.
Whenever you see the word kegel, do some.
Tape it to your fridge, in the bathroom... write it in the steam in the bathroom mirror and when you exit the shower, you'll see the word and be inclined to do them.
The more you do the more control you'll have.
And yeah, that's how you locate them.. stop your stream.
You might not even pee when you sneeze even though you have a big ol' baby sitting on your bladder!!
well, not everytime, anyway.:blushes:TMI

They're great to practice during sex too!
