Go and smoke and feel every puff you take. If you have truly enjoyed smoking u will not have the urge to smoke again. We are addicted to things because we do not live in the present and enjoy every moment of it. it may be shocking but i am afraid thats the only way i.e. enjoy it and let it go truly.

Bluemoon, glad to hear you're still "nicotine free". A few years back a doctor told me to start taking natural vitamin E capsules. Something like 1200 i.u's daily. Supposedly it helps reduce the scarring in the lungs caused from smoking. Check with your doctor, of course, as to how much you should take since I'm not 100% sure 1200 iu's is the amount I was told. This was back in 1999/2000 when I started taking them. Keep up the good work!

Thanks, Spry! Manu, thanks also. But I am not risking smoking another cig. I don't think I am elevated enough to try it. I do understand you sentiment, however. IP: Logged |

Jev, I was VERY ill for nearly week and did not smoke. So I just never smoked again. I tried VERY many time to quit, this is my most sucessful time. When I really feel nuts, like I need a smoke, I just kinda change the subject and so something to get my mind off it. I am not trying to say it is easy, by any means. The best to you!IP: Logged |

Just checking in on ya, Blue. I hope you're feeling better and better with each day that passes and you don't smoke. Ya know, I just read an article on what sign is on the 8th house since it rules death/rebirth.
I have Gemini, ruler of the lungs! All it said was I better quit smoking now. Well, I've set a quit date and seem to find myself smoking even more! It's as if I'm going into withdrawals at the thought of quitting. I think I'm going to do away with the quit date and just friggin do it. All I can do is think about that damn date and it's driving me nuts. (not that that's a far drive! ) I have several things lined up to help keep my hands and mind occupied as well. I'm joining a gym, taking violin lessons, and volunteering more, not to mention I've picked up a couple more clients for massage. Whether you know it or not, Blue, you've been a positive inspiration to this soon to be non-smoker. Thank you IP: Logged |

Adding my best wishes to you both Blue and Aqua! I smoked for 19 years, and now I've been smoke-free for 15. It CAN happen! It was the hardest thing I've ever accomplished. You've already gotten lots of advice about distractions, so I won't repeat all of mine. But there's one more trick that helped me. When a craving hits, take a deep breath and just BE with it. Experience it instead of trying to avoid it or get past it. Stay in the ETERNAL NOW and know that we are all here lovin' on you. Every successful person makes it a little easier for those who follow--adding strength to a planetary energy field. You can access that field ANYTIME you need it! Love & Support! PS.Look out for potholes! My worst temptation to run out and buy a pack(7 years after I'd quit): teaching my daughter to drive!

Skyhawk I looked in UC, but didn't see where you posted a question. Bluemoon, how's the non-smoking going? I pray you haven't lit up again. You REALLY don't want to go through the quitting crap again. I'm having a terrible time with it! I quit yesterday for 5 whole hours. I'm so sick and tired of this stop/start crap!! I just want to be done with the stupid things. I found a great support group called Nicotine Anonymous. Went to my first meeting last night and bought all their literature. Will let you know what happens. IP: Logged |

Congrats! It's great you are off smoke for over 7 months now... Sorry if sounds condescending, but now the only way you would start again is if you are over-confident that you can handle one puff....w/o being addicted. You see, I quit for 5 years, then at a party thought I could light up for a friend.. since then....1993 have stopped maybe a hundred times- max a month and latest from 1st to 7th of this month. Hopefully will learn from you! IP: Logged |
