Ok so a good friend of mine just figured out his allergies are due to his consumption of dairy. I thought maybe we could do a thread on everyone's favorite alternative dairy. Other healthy vegan choices would be cool too. I'm going to do a search myself, so when I find one and try it out, I'll add it. Anyone else? IP: Logged |

Just a thought- don't know if this will be relevant or not...too much soya doesn't agree with some people, however, some makes of rice milk are very good.Quinoa is a very nutritious food for vegans, vegetarians, or anyone....a super grain from the Andes high in Omega 3, nutrients, and protein.... Well, I will always support the virtues of soy..Personally I love soy milk and all other soy concoctions! I really like the Silk Soy (extra vanilla flavoured) milk and there are decent soy cheeses that are out there. Now with the cheeses you can not just sit down and enjoy a wedge with, say a fine glass of vino, but I like to purchase shredded soy cheese and make "pimento cheese" from it! Just a container of pimentos and some low fat Miracle Whip and you have some awesome lactose-free pimento cheese! With the milk, I could probably not drink a glass by itself, either. But mixed with a shake, or in a custard, or my favirot a soy latte......"fearless!!!" IP: Logged |
