It has been 13 years to the day ( 3rd September) that I was diagnosed with diabetes type 1. There have been many ups and downs over the years with it( insuln changes, irratic sugar levels etc)but am feeling that I am allright now. Maybe it is to do with the insulin I am on now ( Humalog and Protophane). I still wish I didnt have this condition but what can one do? Life goes on...IP: Logged |

When I was first diagnosed with it, I was the only one in my family to have it. But over the past few years two of my uncles have been diagnosed with it.IP: Logged |

My mother was just telling me last night how someone asked her if she'd like to donate a dollar to help cure diabetes and she of course had to say; I'm sorry but there is already a cure for diabetes, so I couldnt in good conscience do that. And proceeded to tell the person about it and where they could find more info. And she's right. But like with everything, we arent supposed to ;know about these natural cures that we have for any and every human ailment. It would ruin everything. I will ask her for more info, but for now, this is what i've dug up. Hope it helps you in some way. http://www.rawplus.com/cure_diabetes.html http://www.diabetescure.asia/tag/raw-food/ http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1407054601065907544 IP: Logged |

fieryscales Be very very careful with a change in diet, even ones which are supposed to be sugar lowering. Everyone reacts differently. Some articles recommend honey. Ouch! That will send mine soaring! Oddly ice cream and chocolate lower it! Carrots raise it! The only thing I have seen to consistently lower it is fish..broiled..poached..or baked. Plant proteins except lentils and dried yellow peas raise it. Fruits of any kind raise it. I am not a type 1 however. Meditation after eating seems to help too. Oddly exercise raises it for me. I drive the doctor crazy because my reactions are not standard for a diabetic. I have lost about 120 pounds too and want to take off another 100. With luck that may "cure" me of it. If not then I shall look into the lizard venom. Cinnamon helps me too as do hot peppers. Chromium Picolinate too. ------------------ It is not about waiting for storms to pass...it is about learning to dance in the rain! __________________________________________________________________________

Hi LexxOnce again thanks for your advice I am on the Low GI diet that was recommended by my dr. I have been on it for quite a few months. It has helped my blood sugar levels to be normal. IP: Logged |

I like this book! I learned of the GI Index some 2 1/2 decades ago, but finding food list counts was hard. http://www.amazon.com/Glucose-Revolution-Authoritative-Index-Groundbreaking/dp/1569246602 ------------------ It is not about waiting for storms to pass...it is about learning to dance in the rain! __________________________________________________________________________ IP: Logged |

Fieryscales Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days is an independent documentary film that chronicles six Americans with 'incurable' diabetes switching their diet and getting off insulin. The film follows each participant's remarkable journey and captures the medical, physical, and emotional transformations brought on by this radical diet and lifestyle change. We witness moments of struggle, support, and hope as what is revealed, with startling clarity, is that diet can reverse disease and change lives. Additional wisdom is provided by Morgan Spurlock, Woody Harrelson, Anthony Robbins, Rev. Michael Beckwith, and Doctors Fred Bisci, Joel Furman, and Gabriel Cousens. http://www.rawfor30days.com/ IP: Logged |
