I have come to the realisation that one should be grateful/thankful for their health, even if they have diseases.

I, for one, am guilty of bitching and moaning about my diabetes and my hep b. Wishing that it never happened and wonder what life would be like if I never had these diseases.

Then comes along a person to remind you that there are far worse diseases than you have, such as cancer and AIDS, where there seems to be no hope at all. And yet these people live their lives as much as they can, with these diseases that ravage their bodies. These people inspire me to not moan about myself and think that, no matter what health issues life throws at you, one can and does carry on.

All I hope for is that whoever reads this, thinks about their illnesses and realise that life does carry on, even for people who have far worse diseases than you.

Be thankful for your health!

These are my own thoughts and not taken from anywhere.

The only true wealth is health. Treasure it. Things can always be worse.

It can be taken from one in an instant...I know too well.
Count your blessings folks!
I b!tched before my ocular stroke about needing reading glasses on top of contacts, and a magnifying glass often.
My vision is unable to be corrected by glasses. Only glasses/contacts together kinda work.
I am not going to ***** about the sight I still have and having to do things to see...
AT LEAST I STILL CAN!
All the blindness episodes have taught me to cherish even poor eyesight.

I have a close friend with Lymphoma...it is ravaging his body. He still enjoys life and
hopes he can gain a few more precious years. He is only 40.
Many of my friends have died of A.I.D.S., or are living with H.I.V.

And folks, there is a vaccine for Hepatitis
A and B. I plan to get them ASAP...being several folks I know have one or both.
Better safe than sorry.

Yeah being sick, disabled, sure is no fun, but appreciate what you still have that is good!

Yes, how very true.

I have also seen very dear family memebers die from AIDS, Cancer, etc.

One of my mantras is " It can always be worse"

I'm convinced that one of these days I'll be walking without pain again,

And do you know what?

Im going to be more appreciative than I can say.

Every step I take is going to be pure joy.
