What are some good techniques for grounding myself on an energetic level. I could use some more.A couple I know of are: 1) Go out & hug a tree. 2) I read this online yesterday - imagine a tail coming from your butt area, wag it a couple of times & then connect the tail with the earth. ------------------ "Once in a while you can get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right" Robert Hunter IP: Logged |

Best ever? Go barefoot and connect with the Earth. Bury your feet in the dirt. It will beat anything else by far. http://www.longevitynowprogram.com/news/barefoot-technology-exposed/ Go barefoot! IP: Logged |

Very similar to what SunChild says...and work outside IN the dirt with your hands...dig in your garden (weeding), plant, walk around outside on the grass barefoot. You will feel a lot calmer. IP: Logged |

This is one grounding technique that I have done which makes me feel more balanced, connected to the Forces of the Universe and Mother Earth and also be a more loving person. Before doing the actual technique it is better to do this 'letting go' or 'clearing' exercise which includes: Close your eyes.Breathe in deeply and while breathing out let go of all the clutter and pent up emotions inside. Feel all the tension, clutter and emotions just slip away from within of you effortlessly. It helps to imagine those emotions or tensions as gray puffs of smoke or cloud leaving your body while breathing out. Do it as many times you need to feel completely light and free. Usually takes me 4 or 5 times. After this exercise get yourself seated in a chair on which you can keep your spine erect. Take a deep breath and close your eyes. Imagine a chord stretching from the bottom of your spine. This chord can travel through anything and can reach the farthest distance possible. Attach the chord to a tree trunk, or the core of the earth. From the top of your head let another chord connect you to Cosmic energy. Let Cosmic energy come to your body. Let both of these energies combine at the bottom of your spine and then get spread all through your being and make more balanced and serene.Let these healing energies flow while you bask in this bubble of relaxation. Open your eyes when you feel grounding is done and you have a balanced energy in you. I hope this helps. I also think that what Sunchild and Blue Topaz 124 have said would be wonderful. Gardening and walking bare feet on dirt especially wet dirt and grass will be exquisite and also going closer to Mother Nature would be helpful. IP: Logged |

Great answers guys. Mys-elf, I just want to add that carrying around a rock, a smooth river rock helps to ground you as well. Personally I always keep a peice of quartz on or around me, my energy just feels better with itAlso another great grouding technique is also a visualization using the color brown. When I need grounding I always visualize a brown cylinder from my feet to my perineum at which the base chakra begins. I visualize my feet blending into the ground...becoming one with, and imagine that energy flowing into me and grounding me to the earth. Then I place brown shelf in front me and I place everything that has been bothering me whether be people, thoughts or situations on that shelf, and then I lift it up to my oversoul. Acknowledging the fact that I am experiencing this situation because my oversoul is allowing it and that though it maybe tough at the moment all is as it should be. This usually helps me alot, when circumstances require that I stay grounded, or I feel like I am not centered. IP: Logged |

Thanks for all these wonderful tools I can add to my collection. A friend of mine also told me of one I can do when the weather gets cold.Bring one elbow to the opposite knee while walking. So lift up the knee & bring my right elbow down to touch it. Then bring my right knee up & the left elbow down. Do this a few times. ------------------ "Once in a while you can get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right" Robert Hunter IP: Logged |

Hematite is used for grounding. Also, try African drumming, especially playing dununs.IP: Logged |
