i have wondered for years what the real answer is - if there is one. do you think genetics are the main key to longevity?

i know many people think it is food - what kind, how much, etc.

but the oldest person i know is VERY conventional in her eating habits. though she had a roomate for several years who was a vegetarian, she has never really given up meat, and being oldschool english, tends to overcook things too. she does eat fruit and veg, but mostly in season.

this woman is 98; lives alone; still works part time (she is an artist); still drives and reads WITHOUT GLASSES. though she has always had dogs - who also lived extremely long lives - she is afraid to get one since the last died because she doesn't want to risk leaving it humanless if she passes over, which she has been aware might be soon for years.

she is also the person who taught me (age 5) about visualizing what you wanted in life, and she HAS attracted exactly what she needed to live the life she wanted. like a bronze age(?) plate she dug up in her garden when laying foundation for an extra room...which not only paid for the extension but much more...

she no longer travels, though she loved it, because "my friends are too old to come with me and i don't want to go alone". though she has always been active she is no exercise nut either.

this woman has been the foundation of my belief that doing what you love and understanding the "law of attraction" for want of a better term are probably the top of the list for a long, healthy and happy life....

any thoughts? could it be that what we put into our bodies and mouths is of far less importance than what comes out of them?

Yes! 50% raw materials and 50% is the Mind.
Genetics are like a template for the above to reach their full potentials within/ or break through beyond limits (which some can do)
