Found this while searching an unrelated topic. Thought it was interesting and that I'd share. quote: An interesting tip for those of you still of menstruating age, at the time of your period you are less likely to accept those things in your life you do not want, desire or agree with, you are less likely to accept anything that is not your truth. Some people call this pmt but it could be a gift from our body to our mind because it shows us the things in our lives that annoy us and we have no patience for. So next time you have pmt have a look at what it is what is making you loose your rag and see if this aspect of your life is the one that needs your attention. think of it not as Pre Menstrual Tension but of Positive Mental Thinking!

Glad it spoke to you! I wonder what Mum will think after she reads it...? What's really interesting is a gentleman told me this very same thing a few weeks ago. He explained it almost exactly like the person above did. I'm thinking...."This is interestinnng....and how does he know this?" LOL (I think mostly likely from his studies and also living with wife and daughters...?) I hadnt ever thought to look at it as a positive thing or a special radar, sharpening of our intuition or a way to help us get more in touch with what we are truly feeling about cicumstances, people or situations in our lives. But it truly can be. Females tend to repress a lot more than men, bottle things up and this is a time when we can confront some things in our life in a more direct way and express them. A time when we become hyperaware of them. Like the above says, not accept or let slide what is not our truth. Maybe be able to become more aware of what that is or isnt. Hope your mother thinks on it. IP: Logged |

As women this gift and limitation seems to go beyond that of the male of the species. We seem to be more "trapped" in matter. Because we bleed, and ovulate, carry, bear and feed children, we are reminded on a regular basis that we have a body. We carry the magic of creation and death in our cyclic rhythms. We have the ability to more easily connect matter to spirit. We can innately contact God or soul through our cycles without the need for a cleric. We must remember that in ancient times woman was the natural conduit to the spirit realms. She was not banished from the community at bleeding because she was unclean as some of us have been taught. But rather she chose to seclude herself and remove herself from daily routine in order to cleanse, regenerate and commune with God/Spirit, and to receive guidance for herself and for community. This is the true spiritual purpose of the gift of menstruation that has been distorted and perverted during patriarchal times. http://www.menstruation.com.au/periodpages/whymenstruation.html IP: Logged |

It doesn't speak to me. But carry on.------------------ "I have found a desire within myself that no experience in this world can satisfy; the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world." -C.S. Lewis IP: Logged |

I am totally confusing my doctor. I have not had a period since May 2005. Prior to that they were the mega heavy ones from hell. I thought I was menopausal. Well recent testing says I am not. Sooooooooo....what happened to those 4 1/2 years of missing periods????????????? ------------------ Everyone is a teacher... Everyone is a student... Learning is eternal. }><}}(*> IP: Logged |

I just turned 55. Yes, I have large fibroids. My great grandmother gave birth to my grandpa at almost age 52. Late menopause is not uncommon in my family. It is the sudden stopping of periods in May 2005 that is bewildering. Ovulation testing confirms I am still ovulating. LOL! My ovaries could not be found on last test in 2005.------------------ Everyone is a teacher... Everyone is a student... Learning is eternal. }><}}(*> IP: Logged |

When I drink teas leading up to it, I am less likely to have severe mood swings it seems. I did not drink much tea leading up to it this time...and the moods were swinging. I've seen cinnamon tea branded as a PMS tea before. In the meanwhile I am at my parents having a cola and using a heated pad that I want to take home with me. IP: Logged |

bumping day 3 I've been napping on and off since yesterday. It's a time to catch up on rest since it hasn't been easy since last cycle. IP: Logged |
