Well I broke my veganism about a year ago and now I am disgusted with myself. I am bloated, feel gross, get constipated or the runs, feel guilty, and feel fat. I have gained weight and feel nasty. I am not fat or near overweight but have gained weight (15 pounds!). I was a 4/5 and now a 6/8. I am about 5'5 and have BMI of 23; when I was vegan it was 20. 26/27 jeans were once loose on me and now 28/29 jeans are form fitting.I have begun dedicating my time to healthier choices: more yoga, walking, lifting light weights, and doing stomach exercises that once gave me a baby four-pack. This weekend I plan to buy sneakers, healthier food, and a notebook for a food/exercise journal. I was very strict with my lifestyle. I have an obsessive personality where I fixate on something (i.e. object, goal, person)until I obtain it and am no longer interested. I also have issues with over indulgence to the point of burnout where I longer get satisfaction. I guess the past year I have been a piglet vegetarian who has been overindulging in Havarti, goat and cheddar cheese (nightly). Now I am disgusted and my stomach turns at the thought of dairy. I had to let this out somewhere.

Don't be so hard on yourself. Sure, you have been overindulging, compared to your previous diet and exercise, but over doing it and being "obsessive" makes people more likely to compulsively overreat and feel extremely bad about themselves. No need. We're all human and have slip ups. You can start again now with a new mindset. IP: Logged |
