umm, how does that work then when, say in a family of 3 generations comprising 7 people, only one gets migraines?? and in fact only one other suffered from headaches at all and those were sinus-related?IP: Logged |

I'm the only one on *both* sides of my family (incl. relatives) who gets them.........and I'm the only one who has Candida. Also......I'm the only one who is a Liberal, who is a vegetarian, who is spiritual, and not religious. IP: Logged |

was some talk on the radio about it .. the gene is ( evidently ) like a thermostat .. for people who get migraines .. the 'thermostat' is set wrong .. in other words that gene does not turn 'on' at the proper time ..

I have these, and it's an interesting finding. Mine completely went away while pregnant (increased estrogen), but then after birth returned. I place a lot of emphasis on it just being a symptom of oversensitivity to many things, primarily weather and hormone fluctuations. Apparently changes in barometric pressure can also be a trigger. I do pop a pill beforehand on days such as sunday when it was 113 degrees F. here..but i just -hate- the idea of a pill to treat this. So the search continues..Nephthys, I'm the only vegetarian in my family too. IP: Logged |

** Apparently changes in barometric pressure can also be a trigger **not sure what my headaches are a result of .. ( i.e. they are migraine like ) but changes in barometric pressure certainly plays a part .. since taking 'cranberry forte' capsules .. the headaches have more or less quit .. if i do get one .. the symptoms are much less acute than they were before ~ http://www.cranberryinstitute.org/healthresearch.htm ~ ~ http://www.cranberryinstitute.org/health/antiadhesion.htm ~ cranberry forte .. 'seven seas' brand .. no idea who else might produce them .. IP: Logged |

Hmmm i cant agree with this theory. For one, migraines and candida, like all immune invasions are caused by a combination of acidic body and lowered immunity. Migraines are atypical of brain toxicity, which is typical in people whose other organs cant expel toxins effectively and efficiently. Its all about the ph ! Ps by acidic i am referring to viruses/parasites/cancers. Being a vegetarian does not mean you are alkaline predominant. Linda McCartney died of cancer and was a veggie all her life! She still had a predominantly acidic body! IP: Logged |
