Are you sure you are "really fat" as you said?
So many women think they are fat
but are not fat or are not an unhealthy obese.
At 5ft. 3 inches and nearly 300 pounds (132 kilograms), I am very fat.
Yet when I am at 200 pounds I am not too fat,
I felt good, and sure I was not model thin,
but it was OK being that I am very muscular
and strong.
I could lift 600 pounds.
So please have your body tested for your lean mass by electrical impedance.
Then you will have a better idea of what you should actually weigh.
Forget the charts.
The charts say I should be 119 to 130 pounds
or thereabouts.
However my lean mass, that is muscle/bone/etc.,
the body minus the fat of 12% to 33% for health,
is about 150 pounds.
That means a weight of betwixt 175 to 190 pounds is good for me.
I have lost 140 pounds.
It took several years.
Slowly done helps keep it off.
As to the color diet(s),
I have tried a few different versions.
It does not work for me.
It raises my blood sugar and leaves me feeling hungry and agitated.
Maybe it will work for you.
I have found that following cravings, do not deny yourself, just do not pig out when indulging.
Eat balanced,
and if you do pig out,
forgive yourself and just do not pig out every day.
The weight will come off, yes slowly, but it will come off.
Best of luck to you. {{{hugs}}}

I would say to try to go to raw foods. I know this may sound horrible but it is not once you do it. I love it but one must develop the habit!

I try to go lots of raw foods.
Especially greens when I can afford them,
but at more than the cost of steak per pound....
ouch.
So cabbage is a go because it is at least cheap.
But most raw is too costly.
I do what I can but if I could afford it,
I'd be almost a vegetarian.
so yeah,
if your finances are good,
go raw plant based eats.

Post baby weight here

I was a fatass after birth (95kg)

So far I lost 15kg. Raw food a definite. High fruit or high carb , low fat. Makes it easy.

Read Dr Doug Graham 80/10/10

Weight falls off easy
I got 10kg to go! Done it twice before after each pregnancy. Health improves too.

My normal weight is 65-70kg

Hi there!

Just want to say, first of all, that I know sometimes weight issues are deeply psychological...so I hope you have good friends to talk you through the whole process.

And I love Geneen Roth's book When Food is Love; she talks about how agonizing it can be to lose weight and find yourself unhappy because it didn't solve the problems you thought it would.

(((( Hug )))) I wish you strength and good company for this journey!

As for the nuts and bolts of weight loss, here's my opinion...

It has a lot to do with elimination, first of all. White flour, white rice can cause weight gain because they are constipating. For years I've been noticing that the heaviest people at restaurants tend to have the most "low fat" bread items on their plates. In Ayurvedic medicine, white flour is considered extremely kapha, meaning it creates a kapha (heavy) body type.

Also, to help things along in the gut, it's good to have a balance of fiber, moisture, and fat in every meal. Without fat, things can get stuck in you. Plus it tastes good so that's a good reason to eat it!

Protein should be part of every meal or snack- it helps keep blood sugar balanced. As do beans and green tea.

Preservatives can "preserve" your body fat, making it hard to melt off. So processed foods, of course...bad news.

Eleuthero tincture, ie Siberian Ginseng, will help things along IF you find it agrees with you. It gives you energy and is an "alterative," meaning it tends to alter whatever health condition you have, for the better.

Kombucha, available in health stores, is expensive but tastes good and is very conducive to weight loss. It's full of enzymes...like raw foods, mentioned above. Plus it has probiotics, good for elimination, and antioxidants, good to keep weight off.

Sorry if this overwhelmed you...

and good luck!!!

^^^ That's some good holistic advice right there.

At the end of the day, it's input vs. output.

Burn more than you take in. You get used to how many calories you are eating that is maintaining heavy weight. You need to train your body to get used to less. A 60kg person will only need 1200-1500 to maintain. So you got to eat like the weight/frame you want. For me, this process takes about 4-5 days to get used to. I went from 2500 Cal per day to 1200. And yes, emotions do come up.

Constantly filling up is just promoting further hunger later and cravings. My meals are 4 hours apart no more no less. Constant snacking actually made my weight stick, waiting the four hours I've dropped another 5. I'm down to 75kg as of this morning!!! (nearly at my normal weight.)
Remember I've done this several times..... The reason was pregnancy. I put on weight because I believe you should eat whenever you want to while pregnant.

^ Foods that are more satisfying and blood-sugar balancing might be higher in calories, but make you want to eat less.

So a high calorie meal can prevent snacking.

And I consider dark chocolate a weight-loss food because it has fiber, fat, antioxidants, and stress-relieving magnesium.

I have never paid attention to calories and have always been thin, even after having several children. For what it's worth- I just apply the principles I wrote about above.

Best wishes.

I just made this cookie dough...and while the cookies are baking, I thought I would share the recipe.

I consider these a weight-maintenance cookie because they have a good balance of fat, fiber, protein, antioxidants, and other nutrients.

They are unlike some "diet" cookies that only have white flour (which converts immediately to sugar in your body), sugar, and not much fat. If eaten alone, these cause the blood sugar to spike and too much insulin to be released...extra insulin turning into fat. After the blood sugar spikes, it plummets, causing excessive hunger, or hypoglycemia. This just makes life uncomfortable as you have to struggle to avoid snacking again while enduring a blood sugar collapse.

A better alternative is to keep the blood sugar level even...and these cookies, while not the "ideal" weight loss food, are MUCH better than most diet snacks (provided you are not allergic to the ingredients, of course.) Having them with green tea or even black coffee will help you digest the fat, and provides extra antioxidants.

My apologies for not having the metric conversions, this is an American recipe:

Mix in a large bowl:
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup olive oil (Extra Virgin or Light)
1 stick (1/2 cup) melted butter

Mix in dry ingredients:
1 1/2 cups whole wheat pastry flour
1/2 cup sugar (or Sucanat)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Then add:
1 3/4 cups traditional rolled oats
1/2 cup raisins or dried cranberries
1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped peanuts, pecans, or walnuts

Drop by the tablespoon about 2 inches apart.
Bake at 350 F for about 10 minutes. Cool a bit before transferring to a cooling rack.

Which is what I'm about to do right now!

The dough keeps well in the fridge for a few days, and the baked cookies freeze well and thaw fast.

'Just thought I'd share. I eat these all the time and am a little zealous about them, sending the recipe to everybody I know already.

You sound like my Mother, slim forever. Sanguine body types are most superior.
My Husband and sister are the same, they are all Taurus' & Melancholies/Sanguines. Lean machines. Have not seen an exception in my 27 years.

I'm sensing Monica is a Phlegmatic like me. Phlegmatic Temperaments are a very different species. Let's just say that - Idealogical diets work effectively for us.

That cookie recipe is making me feel fatter just reading it.

^ What kind of stuff do you eat then? Whole grain, meat, beans, vegetables?

I forget what I am, in high school it was melancholic-sanguine, but it's Type A blood, prone to phlegm because of mild dairy intolerance. I eat those cookies like a meal; they fill me up and I'm not hungry for hours.

Frankly I don't consider myself "just lucky" to be thin; I apply a method. It's more in line with diet books like South Beach Diet (which maintains that ice cream is less fattening than white bread) and the Schwarzbein Principle.

So I am putting this out there because it's the way I found and trust.

Gluten-free Vegan works best for me (most energy), though I can afford/access to a variety of fruits and veggies. They make up the bulk of my diet. In line with what the legendary Dr Doug Graham recommends. I've cleared my asthma up many times by excluding grains, meat, dairy. It was a process of elimination to pin point the culprit. turns out it is all three.
Yes I get what you mean about how it is not 'luck'... it's more your body type+ lifestyle. Like it's not some ones bad luck that they are fat. I was gluttonous while pregnant (meat & dairy). Whereas my friends hardly gained a pound because they controlled how much they shoved down their gullets. *grumbles*

Your method would be suitable as a replacement to the S.A.D diet (Standard American Diet)- that is a mega improvement.

^ Right...as I said, eat my cookie instead of a junk cookie. Or as a sweet breakfast by itself. But if you can go completely without cookies, all the better.

Sometimes I substitute spelt for the wheat and no-trans-fat margarine for the butter: like when my family has phlegm issues from colds.

I have quit dairy for short periods of time and even then noticed improvement in my breathing, so I appreciate what you're saying about asthma. I do go easy with it. I wouldn't have that cookie with milk.

Do you find your diet easy to adhere to?

Sometimes I think people set out to lose weight but make the chore so complicated and full of suffering, they can't get anywhere with it.

A good friend of mine lost a lot of weight when she just quit her hang-ups and said, "I'll eat whatever my body is asking for, no more, no less." She stopped berating herself over every dietary mistake, and that was healing on many levels, allowing for more weight loss as a positive side note.

Anyway, nice talking to you.

You too, Faith.

I agree with what you said- as I am at a point in my life where I literally can not do anything that I do not want to do or can not sustain.
It is what it is, I've caught a healthy habit and can not stop it for the life of me.

though I found out recently that I am gluten intolerant, I have all the symptoms. I ate a falafel last night and I found out it had cracked wheat in it. Bad night.... but I feel like I know what's is up with certain health issues. Essentially I rest easy because good weight is a bi product of a healthy diet as I have proven time and time again.

Thank you so much everyone.I also have a phlegmatic temperament. You guessed it right SunChild.I tend to eat more when i am depressed.Ice-cream and oreo cookies make me feel better, they provide a sense of comfort. But i have realized that if i am happy i don't tend to eat so much.So i'm trying to be positive about a lot of things now.
