http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2010/10/04/the-beginners-guide-to-the-paleo-diet/ Opinions? Did anyone try it? I find it interesting and I am giving it serious consideration. It appeals to my Aries Mars plus I should really go organic already. From a medical perspective it also sounds promising. Makes me wanna get busy pumping some iron too, waking up that sleepy mesomorph underneath. ------------------ This girl is on FIRE LOVE, because what else is worth living for, and dying for?! I pretty much eat that way without calling it a diet.I am very carb sensitive so I stick to leafy greens and fish and I do indulge in cheese, cant live without that. I feel better with a food consumption like this. I occasionally indulge myself in our beloved breakfast tacos, but when I do, my system just cant handle it anymore. Or a bowl of pasta...yikes! Goes right thru me. I say give it a try and if you dont feel bettter, than try something else! IP: Logged |

I'm in my 4th day today, so far so good! I am actually quite motivated to make this a lifestyle and avoid carbs forever, even tho I am a huge fan of pasta and pastry and sweets, ofc! But I very well can live without them. Tried some almond milk to replace regular milk and I'm loving the taste! This diet reminds me that I need to eat to live not live to eat. Great lesson for my hedonistic Taurus Venus!

Hi Hera! If you are interested in lifting with the Paleo diet you should checkout CrossFit. The people I have seen who do that get amazing results from only 30 minutes a day. When I was living in a bigger city they had CrossFit gyms everywhere but you only need just a little bit of equipment. Here is this Paleo food table I like. Let us know how this works out for you. Our family has transitioned to eating real food after seeing a ND doctor and it is the best thing we have done for our familys health. IP: Logged |

Thank you, Cay! I tried it for a week and was going well until I had a tough day at work and chocolate in my sight lol. I'm getting back on track, got some books to read too. I really want to make this a lifestyle. I don't think we have Cross Gym here but I'll search it online. For now I am more focused on cardio, but plan on introducing some weight lifting in my program too. IP: Logged |

I'm sure you can do it! Funny thing about this one was that I started graving pizza after a day or 4-5. Very odd because I normally really don't like pizza very much Just build in an "off day" for yourself every 10 -14 days or so. That might help IP: Logged |

Eek, Is that chart suggesting that we don't need veggies as much? Or that nuts are not that important? Please someone explain the chart to me :OIP: Logged |

No. It is just saying to eat real food. (no artificial, no GMO, no junk) IP: Logged |

WELL, I am a little bit more informed now. I am VERY committed to giving this a try, it makes sense from a medical perspective, I get what they're saying. The more I read about it, the more I am sold! lolI am a bit worried about CrossFit tho. Seems pretty high impact.. mm.. IP: Logged |

My husband and I went to see an ND and were recommended to do the whole paleo thing. So I made sure everything was real food and everything got better. I was so worried about him. It is amazing what food can do.

BUMP!I am thinking of incorporating more paleo meals after the wedding...leading up to the honey moon! I just know right now I would be way over my head if I tried it right now. Currently GF and low carb. I only have bread sometimes if it's organic. I even got a cooking appliance that makes zoodles! IP: Logged |
