Hi I was wondering what your experiences have been with eating very healthy (organic, nuts, seeds, no additives, raw food smoothies, etc.) Does it work for you? What do you notice in differences? Thanks IP: Logged |

Hi Don't know what that is, but can't you still eat it sometimes? Or are you strict when it comes to food? Cayenne pepper? Why did you use it before? IP: Logged |

I love Pastrami.I love Cheesesteak. Processed Meats are not good for ones Blood Pressure. Cayenne serves to regulate a wealth of my culinary indiscretions. *sigh* (Especially with a really good mustard. YUM!) IP: Logged |

The reason I can get away with these at all is the back and forth nature of my vegetarianism through the years.Sometimes I will have to go back to it, when I start to feel it in my veins. IP: Logged |

Aah, okay. So you are basically saying 'if in moderation', you 'sin' with processed food sometimes? And generally eating vegetarian did/does benefit you (and helps to moderate the effects of less healthy foods) Is that correct? IP: Logged |

You asked what I experienced when eating healthy.I answered that I really, really miss my Sandwiches. Do you know how difficult it is to make the perfect Sandwich? How precious and rare that moment and taste are? I love my Submarine Sandwiches. Especially with a good Hot Mustard. You know, once I read a wiki about New York cuisine, and make a chicken sandwich that I would have sworn was Pastrami? It just shows the lengths one will go to when searching out that perfect sandwich taste. Also I said that I had to take less Cayenne. IP: Logged |

We don't quite seem to come from the same planet. So I do apologise for asking for clarification again. I meant what benefits there are health wise. What improved for you (so less cayenne if I am correct). Secondly I seem to understand that you are explaining that you really miss certain foods when you do eat healthy. So instead of it being all good, it also feels like a lack in a way, right? I didn't know that what you described were sandwiches. But I can understand cravings for certain foods. Hope I got it this time. Thanks for sharing IP: Logged |

I love it. I am a raw vegan but am not strict. I have soups and cooked veggies, tofu and sardines etc I mainly eat raw vegan, though, and really prefer it now. It gives you good energy and nice skin and hair. ------------------ Want To Ask Any Question About Bible Prophecy? Go For it. It is Free, of course. http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

Oh wow, vegan even Aah okay, so good skin & hair! Sounds great. And a better energy level too then? Just shopped for superfoods, including wheatgrass powder intending to blend smoothies of it all. So that made me wonder of others experiences. quote: Originally posted by Sibyl: Dark chocolate. It's is a (my) superfood!

Hi twirl... I was a health food freak in the 1970s till mid 1990s. (I'm starting to know why my body reacts, through the tiny bit of medical astrology I've looked at.) I have ultra sensitive reactions to foods... I was very strict once-- (whole wheat, multigrain homemade products, homemade yogurts, honey, carob, etc. Had my own small organic garden, composted). ALL for first ten years.
Then "suddenly" around 1976-77, I began having very strong autoimmune? reactions with foods. Developed a rather strong 'histamine' reaction... ESPECIALLY to "fish"! ... Thing is that I didn't "discover" the 'problem' for a few more years later, after I started reacting. When a doctor told me this, I said, oh goody, then I'll just pop an anti-histamine pill and will be able to eat fish again? He sadly said there is 'nothing' they can do about that--- no shot, no pill: bottom-line was to cut or stay away from 'histamines'. Is a "trigger" for the most HORRENDOUS "migraine headaches".... like tripping, hardly knowing which way is up or down, brain can't interpret what I 'see' in front of me. (People thought I did drugs... but all I was "doing" at my study-table were my lunchtime tuna-fish submarine sandwiches!!! I found also that my body would react very strongly to purge ANY "junk" food..... so I HAD to 'innoculate' myself with occasional fast-food restaurant stuff... (healthier side, of course). I used to LIVE on Apples! In the mid-1980s they were using some type of 'spray' insecticide? Made my mouth, tongue, and throat itch and swell, and get rash. In present time, I can have COOKED apples, NOT RAW---- "RAW" causes anaphylactic reactions (no kidding!! ) Cooked applesauce is FINE! ---- thank God!! Red Grapes = headache. Green Grapes from California is good, Green Grapes from South America is anaphylactic reaction again... like apples, and now walnuts too. I met a person at a whole foods market who is like me and has these SAME EXACT reactions too.... My DIET is soooooo CONSTRICTED right now. It's like I hardly know "what" to eat! (Really really got to work on becoming a Breatharian.... j/k) Found SOY PRODUCTS *jawdrop* to be a a big "offender" for triggering Migraine Headaches in me. Along with LEGUMES [beans]. Lentils, and Lima beans. MALT and malted products is another big migraine trigger for me. No more 'Owaltine' in my Milk, nor even Malted Milk candy ... (*sniff*) Regular chocolate is bliss, but the "Darker" the Chocolate gets the higher chance of causing Migraine. 'specialty' dark chocolates are a no-no. Prunes and raisins.... cause BIG headaches! as well as CRANBERRIES. *bawling my eyes out* cranberry sauce was one of my favorite foods! The manufactured blueberry, raspberry, apple, strawberry bits they've been adding to breakfast cereals are headache triggers. I really have to AVOID 'helper-variety' "packaged" foods... and pre-cooked breakfast heat and eats. Have anaphylactic Codeine reactions, and am uber-sensitive to pharmas.... I use tielenol very sparingly. 'Natural Flavorings' is a deception now--it's 'natural' MSG. Barley gives me rashes and headaches Citrus fruits give me headaches, AND terrible stomach acid problems.... FOODs can be health offenders... EVEN "Health" Foods if you react like I do. It was a mystery to me for decades..... NOW, I'm knowing 'what' I can or cannot eat. (My NEW definition of what "Comfort Food" is.... it's whatever doesn't HURT! I love peanut butter sandwiches but the HEART-BURN is colossal. along with Ketchup, and vinegars (vinegar is also headache) Sour Cream has become my 'new' ketchup! My health insurance will NOT cover 'regular' nutritionists-- (because I don't have a 'disease' *palm hand to forehead*.
My main expense is for insurance coverage, but it's like money down the drain for me.... or, into business pocket somewhere! Have to have it, but doesn't help me because there are NO doctors with enough 'experience' to help me in "this" locale. We have groupings of newly graduated docs, with big hearts but very lacking in wisdom and experience. Older (more cunning tycoon-types) have it "figured out".... they now ONLY accept "easy" cases... sure! the logic follows, that they can get just as much money treating an "easy" case, as they do with a riskier complex one!... *eyes rolling* (Reminds me of what my uncle used to say to me--- it's just as easy to marry a rich one, as it is a poor one.... ? Nope, not me. I have to have a reciprocal understanding and trust most-of-all! ) /e IP: Logged |

I have found the best (healthy) smoothie recipe. Almond milk and water with; Wild berries Spinach Carrot Sunflower seeds Sesame seeds Flax half a teaspoon coconut oil (cold pressed) cinnamon walnuts dates It is a balm for the soul. I mean it's healthy so ofc doesn't taste like candy, but the taste is really neutral. Tastes kind of like milk does to me. A little boring but still good. And my body feels so good afterwards, so I now have this smoothie every other day or so. I bring it to the gym and have it after. It is so incredibly filling, it sometimes acts as both lunch and dinner because I can't finish it. I usually make 1000 ml though, I guess it would be good for smaller doses too. IP: Logged |

Wow Mirage, thank you so much for writing down your experiences I do hope you can actually eat products with histamine again. What was the cause of it in the end? (I don't think I saw it in your writings... It's like a suspense movie now, lol.... Edit. Oh hang on, or was it 'products with histamine'? Or was there another trigger? And wow, yes, it does sound quite strict. But I can also imagine the body gets really used to all the good stuff, and then it being thrown of when using 'common goods...' Or at least, I have that quite often (or I think I have that...), but then I pay so much attention to it, (and the amount it costs! I could have lots of bronze dresses for that & golden heels ) because I have had so much problems with my health... Drifting of here... And lol, so funny, letting people think you did drugs In regards to the migraines, did you ever look into Chinese medicine? What you describe is too much 'wood' and fire energy. Also, the foods you describe that trigger it are known as 'heaters of either the wood or fire' element... Migraines are so annoying I love peanut butter & I could live on it alone... Have done for quite a few years though & people wpuld go: oh wow, peanut butter sandwich AGAIN. So adventurous, lol.

Oh wow, sounds yummy! Thanks. I'm so going to try this. I just made a coconut water, spinach & wheat grass one, which made me feel really good I need a better blender though.

I did feel better when I was strictly vegetarian. Waaayyy better. But then I got pregnant, and I didn't trust my knowledge of vegetarianism while trying to nourish a growing little person inside of me, so I went back to eating meat. Ditto for feeling a little unsure of how to go about a vegetarian diet with my son after he was born. We don't eat a ton of meat, and I make sure that he mostly eats healthy organic foods, but sometimes we fall off the wagon a bit. Processed foods do make me feel...gross. What I've especially noticed is that if I allow myself even one small bit of something really sugary like a candy bar or cupcake, I will start craving processed sugar like it's a drug. So I try to stick with graham crackers (preferably organic) and honey flavored Greek yogurt. Obviously, the honey flavor is probably not very natural, but sugar really causes my body to feel whacked out. It messes with my hormones, blood sugar levels, etc. Oddly, using plain Greek yogurt and adding real, local honey seems to create more of a blood sugar issue for me, so I just stick with the flavored stuff. Cutting back on refined sugars always makes a gigantic difference for me as far as mood and energy. But yeah, cutting out meat always makes me feel better. IP: Logged |

Raw fish is good for a raw diet. I just bought some raw cheese but people differ on milk products. I love Tofu but people differ on that. I like Dave's Ghost pepper hot sauce on it. Thanks so much I'll write a longer reply later. Not sure if I overdone it, but I'm feeling AWFUL & extremely low in energy. Like I have or will have the flu. Not sure which is the case or that it's simply the wheatgrass, spirulina & lots of healthy stuff & superfoods I have been eating (& working on exercise routine) which makes the toxins come out of my body :-/ IP: Logged |

I did this. I am also a gluten-free vegan. I haven't seen fast food in 8 years. I look younger (and 60 pounds thinner) in my 30s than when I was in my 20s. My eczema cleared. My acne cleared. My asthma cleared. My GERD is gone. I am not longer pre-diabetic or having stage 1 hypertension. My hair is AMAZING (to stick with astrology, I am Leo rising, this is important, LOL!!!) In other words, this is my life now. I will never go back. I don't fee restricted at all... I feel FREE! IP: Logged |
