We just discovered what appears to be a soft cyst on my son's back, near his spine. So we took him to see the doctor today, and she recommended that we take him to a pediatric surgeon to have it examined.

I have had cysts before (and still have them), and they have not been a problem.

But we're not sure that this is a cyst.

We initially scheduled his appointment for the 18th, but I realized that Mars would be conjunct his Moon and opposite his Aries stellium of Jupiter, Mercury, and Venus.

They may want to do a biopsy, or even possibly drain it or remove it when we go in, so the Mars transits concern me.

With Mars messing around in the picture (many of his planets are anaretic, including his Moon), I thought it would be better to reschedule the appointment for a week later, after Mars has passed his major planets.

Jupiter will be square his Saturn at that time, however.

Anyway, he has a lot of difficult transits going on right now, and I worry about him of course. I am trying not to worry right now, because if I do I will probably make myself sick with it.

Please pray for him and send him white light if you can.

Much love,
Violets

Thanks everyone.

It may just be a cyst or something very non-threatening, but he has so many oppositions from Mars right now that I worry a little more than I normally would (and I worry quite a bit as it is).

I appreciate your support, and for now I'll just assume that it's something minor. But I still want to avoid having any surgeons looking at him with all those Mars transits.

Thanks, everyone. I do need strength right now, and I just hope I'm making the right decision by postponing the appointment for a week.

I once had a cyst removed from my temple area, and the moon happened to be in Aries (I was young, so I wasn't paying attention to Mars transits), and the doctor made a small, wrong cut or something, and I could tell that he was starting to panic a little bit.

I'm not sure what he cut, but I know that it was supposed to be a minor, quick thing and it lasted for hours. I also bled more than I was supposed to.

So yeah, I'm paying attention to transits with this.

Thanks, Ellyn.
It's the relaxing part that's hard, ha.
But maybe I'm thinking too much about the Mars transits, I'll try to contemplate it a bit more.

Chances are they'll just say it's not a big deal and leave it alone.

And thanks, Muddy.

Thank you, Dadoo and Mirage.

I made his appointment for tomorrow instead, at a different clinic. At least none of the Mars aspects will be exact, and the Moon won't be doing anything weird. Hopefully it won't be a big deal, since it's so close to his spine. I would rather they just leave it alone if possible.

If it were on his leg or something, I probably wouldn't feel quite as freaked out, but we'll see tomorrow.

Thanks, all.

Well, we had it looked at today, and the doctor (a pediatric surgeon) said it was probably a benign tumor, and not a cyst.
It's rather large though, somewhere between a nickle and a quarter, and basically right on his spine.

The doctor didn't seem to think it was likely to be serious, but we won't know until he has an MRI.

In order to do that, they need to put him under, which freaks me out. My husband has had severe reactions to anesthesia, and my mom almost died during a surgery because of a complication with the breathing tubes.

So we've decided to go to the anesthesia consulting appointment first, so that they can figure out how they're going to deal with his family history of allergic reactions to it.

We're stuck between wanting to wait for a few years until his body is a little stronger, and more able to deal with something so major, especially given our family history, or going ahead and allowing them to do what they need to do for the MRI and the removal.

I'm really upset and not sure how to proceed, except to go to the consultation appointment to see if there's any way to give him something more mildly sedating for the MRI.

I don't know of any natural cures for benign tumors (we're not sure that's what it is, but that seems to be the most likely scenario), but if anyone can suggest anything that might help, please do.

And please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers, and send him some healing light if you have a moment.

The worst case scenario is that it could be connected to his spine.

I've been through this.

Look, you'll get through, and Thank Heaven it is benign.

I don't often talk about this, but my daughter went to Shriners' a couple of years ago.

My Aunt had the same thing happen to her as your family, and I was on pins and needles the whole time my daughter was behind those swinging double doors.

She is fine now, Violets.

It wasn't just once, it was about four times, and it was a very traumatic time of my life.

But we came through.

And we came through stronger and closer by the end. That's one thing that is difficult, work really hard to stick together and don't let the anxiety come between the three of you.

You can all come through.

Just Pull Together.

and Keep the Faith.

Thank you, Ellyn.

After reading some very disturbing articles about the potential risks of anesthesia for toddlers in particular (he'll be three in May), I feel strongly inclined to wait and see.

The doctor did say that if it doesn't get any bigger, we could in fact just not do anything, and it would more than likely be okay. So we're thinking that we may just monitor it closely for a month or so.

Although it's somewhat large (I would say about the size of a nickle, rather than a quarter), I didn't notice it until my husband pointed it out to me, because it's kind of hidden in his muscle as well.
Now that we know it's there, we can see if it's getting any bigger before we make a decision.

Anesthesia is pretty scary.

But I'm so grateful for you and your family that you all made it through that, and that she is happy and healthy. I love you.

Well...I went ahead and scheduled all of the appointments. We're not positive that it's benign, as he hasn't had the MRI yet.

I will add here that there is a much deeper reason for why I am freaking out about this as much as I am, in addition to dubious planetary transits.

I don't talk about it with many people, and I probably won't talk about it here.

Suffice it to say, your prayers and positive energy is needed and appreciated.

The MRI is a good thing as it will help you monitor it closely in case you and the doctors decide to just wait and see. It's not like anesthesia has been scheduled yet, so one worry at a time (I know it's difficult ^^)

I'm keeping you and your son in my thoughts and am sending all my positive vibes your way

Thank you so much, Dadoo. And you and your loved ones are in my thoughts and prayers as well.

He has to have a mild anesthesia in order to have the MRI done, but it's not as hardcore as the kind they would give him if they remove it.

Just scary with Neptune sitting in my 8th house, conjunct my Sun exact.

But I'll just pray and try to keep having faith.

The MRI wasn't so bad.

Just kind of like "Star Trek" or something.

Good to know what you are dealing with.

Yeah, we want to make sure that it's not connected to his spine.
But with toddlers, they have to heavily sedate them and give them a bit of anesthesia via gas so that they stay still during the MRI.

But if we want to have it removed, which I'm sure we will, he may have to "go under", and especially with Neptune conjunct my Sun exact in my 8th house, I'm a little freaked out about that.

If it weren't for that particular transit, I would probably feel a little more comfortable about it. His Mars transits will have passed when he goes in, but still very scary.

But I'm glad that I have you all here to offer hope and positive energy. I haven't posted anything to my Facebook account, and I don't know if I will.

I've only mentioned what is going on to family, and here.
