I like to paint my nails about once a month.
But what is in nail polish, base coats and removers?

I once read that ingredients on a base coat that said "formaldehyde resin"

I've looked online and haven't found too great of alternatives.

I just tried this homeopathic nail polish remover and it really did not work at all.
Lemon juice and vinegar. Maybe faded the color a bit. Might add a bit of rubbing alcohol to the mix to see if that helps.

Also I guess they make a brand of nail polish that is safe for pregnant women to use, forgot what brand. I'll have to ask my sister. Its at least has to be safer than regular nail polish brand.

It takes a strong chemical to remove it. Don't think anything natural would do.

I was just discussing this with my Daughters.

All that stuff is acetone and crap like that, solvents.

You also have to be careful with Oils, and the way they are extracted.

I don't use anything on mine, and they are very healthy.

I really should take better care of them, shape-wise.

I think you are right about nothing natural being able to remove it Randall.

It's hard to imagine not painting my nails right now. But on the bright side my nails probably look better from quitting smoking, and don't smell as gross.

I used to wear black, and I hated having to use the stuff to remove it.

You're probably not going to find anything completely natural, but I have seen some brands free of a few ingredients that receive the most flac (like formaldehyde): http://www.goddesshuntress.com/2012/03/30/the-list-3-free-and-5-free-nail-polishes/

Not so sure about nail polish removers. I don't think it gets any better than acetone.

Yeah, that's the thing.

I really hate the way it weakened my nails.

I use them for so many things, I want them to be strong.

Before I dump my creation, I'll added some rubbing alcohol to it. I'll let everyone know how it goes sometime soon.

Added rubbing alcohol to it too it and a few times it got a tiny chip of nail polish off. So in other words epic fail.
