I wondered if anyone could cast some light here:

I have quite recently developed pain in my left foot - feels like arthritis in the joints towards the front of the foot. Now, in the past, I did develop joint pains which seemed to be related to stress.

A few years ago, I needed to leave a job and it was my body signalling this to me. I used to work on the first floor and I got knee pain which made it difficult for me to climb steps. All was resolved when I resigned.

I wondered if anyone could say what might be the cause here.

I have heard of this. Your body may be getting too acidic. A heavy acidic diet can do this, as well as( and in addition to) stress.

Try to do more alkaline things. Look these up on the computer and you will see the good foods and other things to do.

Thanks Ami Anne.

I am a vegetarian but have been eating far too much bread lately. Could be a gluten allergy.

I should ask for a tarot reading if I have an allergy . Maybe it's nothing to do with stress in this instance.

Hi AK,

Stress could cause that. If you have been under stress for a long time, you could get adrenal fatigue which can result in low cortisol levels. What are your stress levels? This could be especially true because you've had this happen before.

How are you sleeping? I had a lot of problems with my joints, especially my feet, after my oldest was born. They even tested me for arthritis. It was lack of sleep. To this day, if I sleep less than seven hours my feet bother me. Of course, stress levels effect how we sleep.

You mentioned food allergies, that would be my third idea.

There are some supplements you could try, MSM, glucosamine-chondroitin, chelated magnesium, high potency fish oil, maybe even l-glutamine if it is something in the muscles.

How are your stress/sleep levels? Keep in mind not just emotional stress but physical stress, too, like over exercising, illness, surgery , etc.

KM,

If lack of sleep could be the cause then that is very likely a contributory factor. My sleep patterns, especially lately, have been appalling. Hadn't thought of this one. Good to know - now I can do something about it .

I hope that helps.

I use chelated magnesium and l-glutamine to help me sleep. Have you tried either of those? They work a treat!

SAM-e (S-Adenosyl methionine) can be effective treatment for joint pain.

If the problem persists add L-Methylfolate to SAM-e.

L-glutamine can be helpful for muscles if they were the culprit as fellow KarmicMoon mentioned.
