If you ever try this stuff, go easy on it and start off at small doses (like 5 to 7 units). I learned this the hard way, as the second time I did it, I took too much and then did an intense weight resistance work out after. Well, I ended up puking all night, and feeling like I had low key flu the next day.

It also contributed to some severe hair loss. Literal clumps of hair started to fall out. I don't think that was just melanotan, but a synergistic effect with combining weight/resistance training with (natural) supplements that can boost testosterone. Testosterone often gets converted into DHT which seems to be responsible for head hair loss a percentage of the time.

Yeah, it sucked. I had nice long hair before this (with a bit of a bald spot at the crown, but it wasn't too bad), and because of so much falling out so fast, I ended up shaving my head recently. A Lion without a mane is a sad creature indeed... (cue violin for the vanity).

As to why I am taking the Melanotan? Being of almost all Celtic (slightly predominant) and Germanic type ethnic descent, I'm pretty weakly melantated--somewhere in the middle of type 1 and 2 skin type. Burn pretty easy and only get lightly tan over time. I have a trip coming up where I will be on a boat for 7 days right around Summer Solstice and I plan to do a lot of swimming/snorkeling. My white arse will fry if I don't constantly lather up with super strong sunscreen or wear long sleeves, etc.

I don't like putting sun screen on, and while I'll do (and often have done) the Aussie and old people thing of wearing long sleeves etc swimming, I would rather prefer not to. Who wants to swim in the ocean wearing a long sleeve shirt and a bloody hat?

So I figured I would give this stuff a try. It's not too bad if you go easy on it (and don't do an intense workout right after...). I've only had 3 tanning sessions (and not one longer than 5 minutes so far) using it and I'm already about as tan as I get at the peak of summer. The plan is to slowly, but gradually build it up so that by the time of the trip, I will be naturally protected. Melanin is the OG sunscreen. It certainly does protect your skin from UV damage (there are some idiots out there claiming that it doesn't). It's why people whose ancestors lived near the equator for long periods of time, tend to be very darkly pigmented/melanated; adaptation to same.
