we all know of the distinct generations - commonly known as Waves- of Feminism..the first dating from 19th and early twentieth century that fought for overturning legal obstacles to equality, voting rights, property rights etc.. the second wave activity began during the early 1960s and lasted through the late 1970s focused on sexuality, family, the workplace, reproductive rights the third wave began in the 1980s and continues to the present. This wave embraces contradictions, conflict and irrationality and attempts to accommodate diversity and change but most importantly no all-encompassing single feminist idea, no advertising hatred toward men etc.. Briefly, the growth of the feminist movement shows the growth of us women with time.. after centuries of oppression the first wave could have not been anything short of explosive and thanks to it women gained their most primitive legal rights, however today after "most" women have found their rightful place in societies feminism drops its "essentialism" properties and becomes a movement that encompasses every woman's own definition and perspective. what do you think of the phases of feminism and where do you see it go from here?

I personally feel that no matter what the age and time be the saying "There is a woman behind every successful man" is as much true for There is a man behind every succesfull woman! It works both ways you know!Yes it does.

I read this article, a while ago about how the planet (or whatever it is lol) Eris is playing a role in the femmist movement. Its in Aries right now, so women are taking ACTION like how in the 70's and such, women would burn their bras and such to prove a point. The article also predicted that when Eris enters Taurus women rights would be much more stable. I may try to hunt for that article later on the web. But as for now, time to get my dress out of the dryer. (I like that better than ironing to get wrinkles out. lol) IP: Logged |

hmm, well although some women gained all their basic legal rights sadly many are still struggling.. Maybe Eris in Aries is what they just need to get down to business.. also, maybe Eris in Aries is explained by the new wave of independent feminism, women dont actually engage in feminist groups or activities but practice feminism in their lives on their own and enforce it to their surroundings!

I found it! http://www.edaugusts.com/?p=1097 Looks like Eris has been in Aries since 1923 and will stay there until 2044. "Now, for the girlsc Girls born under ERIS in ARIES had an extra MARS component in all their charts. You can think of this as girls born in the mid-1920s who grew up and married in the 1940s, during the war. Meanwhile, the girls born in the 1940s and 1950s grew up in the 1960s and 1970s, in those years that girls were in the Free Speech movement, the sexual revolution, burning their bras and running away from home, often living in co-ed dorms or out in the communes. This was unprecedented, heady behavior. Aries rules the head. These females were using their heads more than previous generations, albeit not always successfully. But Eris in Aries explains (1) Womenfs Liberation, (2) the rise of Lesbianism. Both of these, formal & informal societal/sexual changes of emphasis, happened as Eris entered the 2nd Decanate of Aries, i.e., 10, 11 deg. This also coincided w/ the gHippyh & anti-war movement of the mid- to late 1960s. Eris moves SO slowly, it may influence specific degrees. I know I am looking at history through my particular memories of colleges in California in the United States; if Ifd lived in some other part of the country, or in any other part of the world, no doubt my experiences and those of the people around me would have been very different." "Eris will enter Venus-ruled Taurus in 2044, a bit too late for some of us to enjoy. But implying that if wefre still here, times may improve. That information wonft help very much to those people wondering about paying the rent next month."
lol This article only doesn't talk about Eris and Femmist as much as I thought it did. But those paragraphs above stood out the most to me. IP: Logged |

Quoting for the truth. ------------------ Ask Me anything. Anything. I will contrive to bring you the answer. The whole universe will I use to do this. So be on the lookout. This book is far from My only tool. You may ask a question, then put this book down. But watch. Listen. The words to the next song you hear. The information in the next article you read. The story line of the next movie you watch. The chance utterance of the next person you meet. Or the whisper of the next river, the next ocean, the next breeze that caresses your earall these devices are Mine; all these avenues are open to Me. I will speak to you if you will listen. I will come to you if you will invite Me. I will show you then that I have always been there. All ways. ♥ IP: Logged |
