Swiffer, oh look another woman cleaning the mess.

aggh I can't find this one comercial it was kind of recent, around the begining of this year...I really got me thinking and made me wonder. Are cleaning procduct comercials a bit sexest?
Anyway this is what happened in the one comercial...some of you may recall it.

A dad and son are slidding a mini bowl of salsa like they are playing table hockey with it. Well one of them knocks it over. Uh-oh! So then the wife/mom waltz in the room and whipes/cleans it up!

And I'm thinking wtf?! Why is she cleaning it up?! She wasn't the one who spilled it. That's messed up.

I even blurted out while watching this with friends and other people, "WHYS THE WOMAN GOTTA CLEAN UP THE MESS!?"

I cracked them up, but seriously I'm offended by that.

Cause I know woman that work their ***** off more than their SO, and the SO still wants them to do most of the chores. Messed up.

ohh Mblake there is soo much wrong with what you said i had to flinch when i read it..

i think chores should be divided up over the household, if its a couple than each should carry HIS and her own weight.. i swear to God if i walk in a room in my house and see someone's dirty laundry on the floor regardless the gender you’re gonna wish you were never born..

there is no excuse for being messy, i'm a lazy ass libra and i know that! i had this virgo guy friend, the tidiest man i've ever met, he was soo organized that i used to copy his notes.. so men can be tidy too

NO EXCUSES

I HATE sexist cleaning commercials.. they make entire University courses on the subject. It's sick when your eyes are opened to commercials- the blatant social sexism that's completely accepted and 'normal'. Also the sexualization. YUCK.

and.....If I see another freaking commercial with a 15 year old pimping anti wrinkle creams I am going to throw up.

Don't even get me started!!!!

In my home?
My husband does most of the laundry.

We equally clean- I am home more than he is, so I clean more than he does- but I know when I start working twelve hour days, he will pick up the slack. Everyone wants a clean and smooth running home....women or men.
Now just get my kids to do it-that's the trick.

In this day and age, I was talking about going for a run with my gf, and her husband started talking about the time we were running, which corresponded to her kid's bedtimes- like she was doing him a disservice, MAKING him do 'women's work'...that was actually said- "Women's work". To even make the distinction beyond- perhaps biological functions- like childbearing or breastfeeding- is sickening.
We have breasts and uteri, but men are capable of doing absolutely anything else that we have 'traditionally' done.
Traditions are not biological.

and then there are some men that like the idea of women working, paying the bills, and then doing house work after work...you know dead beats.

maybe not that extreme but I know some men like their woman also providing, and continuing their education, but then demand she does the chores. I think my cousin's husband is like this. I hear from my aunt that he doesn't do much when it comes to chores. And my cousins best friend told me that one time their girl was crying and just walked out of the house. (in my book, that is a fail) He works. Thats it. It's not like he has homework like my cousin does. When he is off of work he is off. When your also in school you have to work at home too.

I once lived with an ex that started to b!tch at me to chip in with the chores. When I had the full time job. And what did he do? Sit on his ass and get money from the gov, and food stamps. And go to night school for like once a week.

Never ever again.

and it makes me really upset that my cousin might be putting up with simular stuff that I went through.
