at least until hemp replaces trees as the preferred source. At least the early settlers knew it and grew/utilized it. We have to catch up with them ------------------ As Angels above guide Human beings, Human Beings have the opportunity to be Angels on Earth, who guide the Animal kingdom. - Da Vinci IP: Logged |

I don't personally get upset if an American says you should use Fahrenheit. I look at from a business perspective "in there culture they do things that way and I will have to respect it, if I intend to keep some kind of relationship, friend or business". The only reason why Canada uses a different standard of measurement is because of politics. It was chosen that we should align with the same system with Europe. The US is similar to an older brother/sister that left the house at 18 and decided to form its own destiny. However, Canada and the US need each other and are similar to a couple that will forever be dating, but because of minor differences will never marry. Example Canada needs someone to buy are resources and US needs those resources, being geographically close means the two countries could "trade" what the other needs. For years its always been working that way, there have been some minor trade wars, but its no different then the average couple fighting. But, Canada and Australia are more similar than the US and Canada are. Both have faced the issue of move closer to the US or stay closer to the British Crown and Europe --------------------------------------- Capircorn Rising Gemini Sun, 5th House Aries Moon Mercury in Gemini Venus In Taurus

define "little"... ------------------ " Some define good as that which preserves, and evil as that which destroys; but destruction can be cleansing and purifying, for there is such a thing in both men and races as spiritual constipation, which comes from too much preservation of the status quo." I've worked in two different situations where we had to be instructed on dealing with Americans, because there are slight cultural differences. For one thing, Americans love to go to conferences; Canadians don't. For another thing, Americans are more direct and less passive than Canadians, they'll tell you if they're interested or not. Canadians very often will ask you to call back instead of giving you a yes or no answer. Finally, Americans love to sue people, so any threats to sue had to be treated as credible and the caller transferred to the legal reps.I also once had an American refer to me as a 'dumb white b****.' I spoke to Americans from all over the country for 8 hours a day. I am quite familiar with the differences. IP: Logged |

That Aquacheeka, is not an Americanism . Both sides of the border are culprits of such unkindness. ------------------ As Angels above guide Human beings, Human Beings have the opportunity to be Angels on Earth, who guide the Animal kingdom. - Da Vinci IP: Logged |

"Little" meaning we look out for Canada and would defend Canada against invaders and so forth. A strike against Canada would be a strike against the US. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." I miss Opal!Anyway here is a video that was made by the local campaign called "sheyif halak" that translates to "can you see yourself" and can also mean "showoff" so it has dual meaning. The Lebanese attitude is very disturbing sometimes, this campaign sheds light to our horrible driving habits and some of the immoral habits people always call us out on like bribery and such. This video in particular deals with our stupid pretentiousness where all Lebanese people think they are better than the rest of the world and attach stereotypes to everyone with a pulse, including our own people. *removed the video, worried it would offend someone. It is odd how people and cultures see them selves as separate from the rest of the world. I have always marveled at that!We all, in any country , are but one small part of the globe...Positive and negative habits & all Now I wish that silly Canadian would wander back by ------------------ We dance around the ring and suppose, but the secret sits in the middle and Knows Robert Frost IP: Logged |
