In thinking about it more, I can see how more interpretations would be offensive than originally thought. While I could always see how the really "over the top" ones could be offensive, I'm now realizing how and why even a lot of more toned-down ones can be offensive. While I'm still not sure about 'cultural appropriation (as every culture has borrowed from another, and also as the world would be a boring place if every culture kept to itself and never shared/received anything from others), I can see more clearly now the impact that a costume can have, even if it's not meant to mock a culture. So, just wanted to say that, and apologize if I was insensitive earlier. IP: Logged
