(j/k....okay?: SO, Would this make YOU just as guilty for propagating that ugly negative message, by quoting that graphic of 'what a Christian says'? huh? )

Randall, I recall that.... about his being shocked. He wasn't the only one.

People who were 'Christ-ians' didn't like him saying any of that either! Suffered a bit of persecution for 'helping' people. And struggled with his own psyche over this for a long while, too. Went against culture and tradition for him.

I wonder how much of this 'going against his own personal taboos' was adding to the resistance and wear on his vessel... his human physical body?

edit to add this bit>>>>>I did not catch the bit where you said you were joking, so kindly take my following rant in the light that I did not notice that....but it did not feel like a joke even after I caught that you said joke....you still accused me....sigh....<<<<<<<
First off I did not make that graphic; I copied/cut/pasted....so ooopsd...sorry it did not say ask fundie Christians.......
I NEVER SAID THE MAN YESHUA/JESUS WOULD OR DID SAY THAT!!!!!
I DO NOT BELIEVE IN THE CHRIST MYTHOS.
YESHUA/JESUS WAS A REAL PERSON, A GOOD MAN, NOT A RABID FUNDIE OF HIS TIME.
People like Paul made up lies to fund their own agendas and they needed a scapegoat...and who better than a good man who had not been around there for nearly 2 decades?
Seriously dear;
saying Yeshua was Christ offends me.
You are alowed to believe what you want but
do not condemn me because
I feel differently about the good man Yeshua.
No he would have never and did not say those kind of things!
And he was not a Christian! That was made up/promoted long after he left.
That is like saints....people are sainted after they are dead; and do not know what tales folks are spreading about them. Same for Yeshua.
He would be horrified by what has been done in his name and all the lies told about him.

Have you not being paying attention??????????

That is EXACTLY what at least one person here at LL believes and EXACTLY what the strict believers believe and do say.

WHY ARE >>>YOU<<< OFFENDED?
IF YOU ARE NOT ONE OF THOSE KIND,
THEN CHILL OUT.
Of course if you are not then you do not follow the bible 100% so what does that make you?
Cannot pick and choose the bits you agree with and be a 100% believer.
And it is pointing out the truth of strict believers;
I AM NOT MAKING IT UP.......

SO....KINDLY....BACK....OFF.

I have witnessed it too often and experienced much abuse and worse at the hands of people who do indeed believe in that manner.

I did not say all Christians.
In fact I do not see many folks who say they are Christian, as Christians in the strictest sense.
They are too nice and caring and do not want the death and destruction and damnation for most of humanity just for not believing as they do.
But fact is fact, what I posted;
and here it is again; is EXACTLY what strictest ones do believe and say.

NOTE...I SAID STRICTEST NOT ALL............
I did not make that graphic; I copied/cut/pasted....so ooopsd...sorry it did not say ask fundie Christians.......

I do not have a problem with all who call themselves Christian;
even though I do not agree with them.
My best example was my beloved mother-in-law/ex mother-in-law.
She NEVER PREACHED;
and only showed love and kindness and tolerance for all.
Humble, caring, forgiving, understanding, and such a sweet soul.
She lived by example without preaching.
A truly extraordinary woman.
She is greatly greatly terribly missed.
PS.
Her maiden name was "Christ".

I am not the monster you seem to want to paint me out as.

Lexxi sending you and mirage a big {{{hug}}}
I don't think you derailed my thread.
This is what makes LL special. Its great to have a place to add our thoughts and ideas. (In my family there is also Christ in the name) I do not believe in damnation. I have an open mind to religion. As for the bible its my humble opinion that it is not meant to be taken literally. There is missing books that were never put in so I believe the bible history to be incomplete.
That is just my thoughts there is love and kindness in the new testament, the old testament is scary to me if taken literally

You are definitely NOT a monster.

Thank you again.
It is strange because many Christians do not like me.
Yet many atheists do not either.
Seems not believing in religion alienates me from religious folks;
and theorizing that there is reincarnation, ESP, and so forth makes many atheists not like me.

SO...
NO DEAR....I DO NOT HATE YOU....

I didn't figure you did. But this

quote:
Again sorry if I offend you but I do not buy into those views at all. If you wish to think of me as bad because I do not indulge such fantasy and delusion.....then hate me.

Made me think I should clarify.

In other words, me hating you for your beliefs sounds as crazy to me as you hating me for my beliefs probably sounds to you.

I know both you and Juni have both experienced the worst of religious fundamentalisim. That's something I've never quite come face to face with, so my heart goes out to both of you.

If another country was to rule the world after the inevitable fall of the USA, it would be China.. no doubt about it.

I also believe that Abrahamic religions ( Christianity, Judaism and Islam ) will fade away with time and spiritual systems of belief will rise in its stead.. mostly Buddhism which I believe to be the best religion ever made.

Look back at history, Who would have thought that the invincible Roman Empire could fall ? Ancient Egypt fell, as well as Ancient Greece, the Great British and Spanish Empires fell and in more modern times, the Soviet Union. Soon enough it would be the European Union's turn.
If the USA continue on the way it's going now, it wouldn't be long before for its turn comes.
Americans should have listened to George Washington when he told them to keep to themselves and avoid getting themselves entangled in worldly affairs, look at Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria.
Sadly, they giving off a very terrible image of themselves to the globe.

But those were different times. In this modern age, it would be a very diffcult feat for the US to crumble, so I respectfully disagree. Now, whether or not we are ostracized by the rest of the world is another matter.

If it did happen, I would guess the states would rule themselves or perhaps the US would break up into regions.
