It hit us last night. Schools and business`s closed but not much damage.

The cold hit us the first time, but no snow at all.

the thaw is but a dim memory.

Barely reaching 10 degrees and woo hoo , all the blowing snow.

The groundhog gave his unwelcome opinion but I`m over ruling him and calling for an early beautiful spring for all

Not looking forward to the return of those evil destructive groundhogs.
They have caused several thousand dollars in damage to my home and property.

Homeowners insurance has dropped my garage from coverage because of the severe damage the groundhogs have done.
They also have damaged the house and insurance may get dropped all together if they do not stop tearing into wood and siding and climbing into places too(they can climb very well by the way)and digging up to 30 feet long and 8 feet deep tunnels.
It destroys concrete walls, footers, steps,
floors, patios and driveways and even underground lines for electric/gas/water/sewer....and the list goes on.
I cannot afford to fix the damage either.
Also discovered to my horror that they will chew through brake lines and any wiring under a car/truck etc.
:shudder"

Their deep holes can break the legs of cattle and horses that are trotting along and have a leg drop deep in a hole. I myself have had bad falls from stepping in these kind of deep rodent holes, and was lucky nothing broke. These vermin may look cute from a distance, but can cause injury and even death on top of property destruction.

They also like hiding under cars and no one knows why, but they love to chew through brake lines and other hoses/tubes on cars. :eek
Could be just a rodent's need to constantly chew, but that is a very potentially dangerous deadly thing to lose one's car brakes to groundhog and other rodent's chewing.:

We have a problem with mole holes. Animals and humans break ankles / legs in them too.

Had a llama baby who broke his leg in one and we called him Wholey Moley.

Yeah groundhop holes, mole holes, chipmunk holes all over here too and I have seriously damaged my ankles leaving permanent damage from tripping in them with foot/feet sunk in them ankle deep or more So now I cannot usually walk with out a wheeled walker instead of a cane because of the injuries.
I have absolutely no love for such vermin to say the least. Chipmunks cewed the wiring in our walls and so we have no electricity in most of the house and cannot afford to fix the damage in the $ thousands caused by them and groundhogs. Opossums are cool. Crows are cool. Skunks are cool unless they blast. Deer are vicious and aggressive here, raccoons are cute but serious pests. Wild Turkeys are hilarious! Vultures are appreciated. Squirrels are also horrid and tear shingles off the roof and get in our ceilings and their crap and p!s$ comes through the ceiling.

Hope your Llama heals OK.

I thought you were referring in some ways to our abnormally warm February here. It was pretty freaky. Earth cycles? Who knows exactly why?
