We all have these moments!
"She had a huge repertoire of hearty Fare.
dishes passed down from her grandmother, designed to stick to your ribs and nourish you.Mum was an efficient and intuitive cook, never measuring, always using what was on hand, abundantly feeding anyone within range at every mealtime."

So which one of her dishes do you think nobody can ever match up to?

I learned to love to cook from my late granny Gee~

I dont try to top anything she taught me, but I expand upon it, tweak it out, make it more me! (and my grandpa loves every rendition I have come up with, he being in the Midwest and me in the south!)

Her omelettes, sweets, and beef curry are unrivaled. Pretty much all the women from her side have a way with the stove.

My mom was a great cook and loved to feed others, one and all. So i miss her cooking. All of it. Specially the dinner we had on Mondays in the holy month of Shravan with Pancakes made of Sweet Simolina, peas vegetable, sour potato curry and green coconut chutney. Finger licking.

rajji....would you mind posting your Mum's Butter Chicken (or an approximation)? It's one of my favorite dishes and would love to make it at home.

Just one dish? I can not do just one,
impossible

It's a toss up between Mom's
Fried Chicken, (oh man, delish)
or Chile Verde with homemade tortillas
you knew something good was coming up if she was making that.

Do we ever get over Mom's Cooking

Ach, I Love Chile Verde.

We had Family Get-togethers based on Ford's Chile Verde.

(Was Mom's boyfriend.)

My mom kicks it with paneer dishes. She made some paneer patties after I became vegetarian and they're still the best veggie patties I have ever had.
