1 lb of stewing beef 1 diced tomato or half a can of tomatoes 1 tablespoon of curry (preferably the Hot Madras stuff) 1 diced onion 2 sliced peppers (optional) 2-3 dashes of salt 1 packet of spinach (also optional) Fry and cook the beef first until a golden brown (basically, cooked). Then add the onions, peppers, salt, and curry...turn those together for about 5-10 minutes so that the beef can cook in the curry. Then add your tomatoes and a little bit of water if you want, and cook until it looks like a nice stew. Spinach should always be added last.
Enjoy with rice. *edit* Am I suppose to give a history lesson on this? East Africa has been open to trade with Asia since the 7th Century...hence the obvious influence on our cooking.

Oh, and I usually throw in a chili pepper or two (piri piris, usually) for some extra flavor. IP: Logged |
