PISCESBrown Betty Mike Roy: If you top the dessert with a large dab of whipped cream, your guests will love you. It’s a good, old-fashioned American dish. 1 cup dry bread or graham cracker crumbs ¼ cup melted butter 2 ½ cups peeled, diced, or sliced; apples, peaches, cherries, or cranberries ¾ cup packed brown sugar 1 teaspoon cinnamon ¼ teaspoon nutmeg ¼ teaspoon cloves ½ teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon grated lemon rind 1 teaspoon vanilla 3 tablespoons lemon juice 4 tablespoons water ½ raisins Combine the bread crumbs and melted butter. Line the bottom of a baking dish with 1/3 of crumb mixture. Sift brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt. Add lemon rind and vanilla. Place ½ of apples in the dish. Cover the layer with ½ sugar of sugar mixture. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Add 2 tablespoons water. Cover the apples with 1/3 of crumb mixture and ¼ raisins. Add the remaining apples and sprinkle them as before with the remaining sugar mixture and 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 2 tablespoons water, and the remaining ¼ cup raisins. Place the last 1/3 of crumb mixture on top. Cover the dish and bake for about 40 minutes, in a 350F oven, until the apples are nearly tender. Remove cover, increase heat to 400F, and permit pudding to brown for about 15 minutes. Serve hot. IP: Logged |

Mmmm...Zabaglione...A few friends from Italian class were telling me about it and so I was dying to try it! My Virgo buddy took me out for Zabaglione and we had it with strawberries. You can have it either cold or warm. IP: Logged |

Well now i know why the idea of an Atkins diet seems tantamount to hell.. "Virgos need their bread" Well.. no WONDER then hahahhahha the desserts are really cute..but in all honesty, i would only eat marshmallows if other options were exhausted..hee hee.. Does it count that I love Brown Betty, and thats my astrological opposite? K IP: Logged |

Aphrodite, I would just like to thank you for all the efort you put into typing these recipes out (it's a very tedious task, and I loathe doing it myself). They all look so wonderful and, loving to cook and bake things myself, I will have to try all of these wonderful desserts out myself. My Taurean fiance' will absolutely love the dessert you posted for his Sign, and I think I'll make that one first Again, thank you very, very much, for these divine treats!------------------ "Our generation has had no Great War, no Great Depression.
