Awesome thanx!!!The crockpot came with a little recipe book but my roast beef came out still pretty pinkish in the middle/inside... It only has 3 temp settings so i dunno if maybe i should exchange it for a diff one. IP: Logged |

I like it a little pink inside. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |

Lol... But it looked like a lot of pink... With beef its not sombad, but what if it had been chicken? That wouldnt have been very good. Do you think maybe i need to cut it up in half so it cooks more thoroughly? IP: Logged |

Hey Junethird, if you are still looking for recipes, here are some of the recipes I use that my boys love which take minimal prep. Crock pot roast BEEF 2 (10 3/4 ounce) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup 1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix 1 1/4 cups water 5 1/2 lbs pot roast Directions: 1 In a slow cooker, mix cream of mushroom soup, dry onion soup mix and water. 2 Place pot roast in slow cooker and coat with soup mixture. 3 Cook on High setting for 3 to 4 hours, or on Low setting for 8 to 9 hours. It is more tender if you do the low setting. Also add chopped up vegies - potato, carrots & onions underneath meat if you like. My boys also love Ribs. Just slice a couple of onions (or more depending on how big your crockpot is but make sure the base is covered) & place in bottom of crockpot. Place your ribs on top of onions & drizzle a fair amount of BBQ sauce over the meat. Sometimes I add freshly squuezed orange juice & extra brown sugar if not enough bbq sauce. Cook on low heat for 8 hrs & enjoy!

What You Need 1 lb. ground beef 1 jar (24 oz.) spaghetti sauce 1 cup water 1 container (15 oz.) POLLY-O Original Ricotta Cheese 1 pkg. (7 oz.) KRAFT 2% Milk Shredded Mozzarella Cheese, divided 1/4 cup KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese, divided 1 egg 2 Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley 6 lasagna noodles, uncooked Make It BROWN meat in large skillet; drain. Stir in spaghetti sauce and water. Mix ricotta, 1-1/2 cups mozzarella, 2 Tbsp. Parmesan, egg and parsley.
SPOON 1 cup meat sauce into slow cooker; top with layers of half each of the noodles (broken to fit) and cheese mixture. Cover with 2 cups meat sauce. Top with remaining noodles (broken to fit), cheese mixture and meat sauce. Cover with lid. COOK on LOW 4 to 6 hours or until liquid is absorbed. Sprinkle with remaining cheeses; let stand, covered, 10 min. or until melted. As for chicken, if you like shredded chicken tacos, soft or hard, think chicken legs+thigh portions: -3 pds defrosted chicken (remove skin) -3 cans stewed tomatoes -Season to taste, prefer cilantro, oregano, cayenne pepper, and sugar or honey Fill crock pot with ingredients, set on medium or high for at least 6 hours, 8 would be better. That seems vague but you will get the sense of how long they should cook. The great thing about using a crocpot is if you go 8 hrs, they still will come out fine, a crock pot is very forgiving in that sense as what it amounts to is a low pressurized pressure cooker, everything comes out moist and succulent. And then debone and you will have about a pound or so of BBQ'd shredded chicken, it is good for everything from soft tacos to putting on the cheapy pizzas to even adding to pasta. http://www.kraftrecipes.com/recipes/slow-cooker-lasagna-114123.aspx IP: Logged |

I am doing the roast beef right now. I`m concerned because the crock pot is so full. Does this add more cooking time? @juniperb,Yes, leave it cooking for a few extra hours. My crockpot is medium sized and I too had to extend my time as well. IP: Logged |
