all day, every day. My new best friend (panini maker/sandwich press).mmmmm .... warm, ooey-gooey Heaven! I designated a spot on my counter for mine and have been using it alot lately after kind of having forgotten about it because i didnt really have room at my other place. It makes fantastic quesadillas and breakfast sandwiches too. It cooks fish and chicken very quickly as well. Anyone else have a panini/sandwich maker-griddle? If so, what do you make on it? Will share some fave recipes i've come up with at some point. Lazy Taurean likes not having to flip anything anymore. hahaha It makes delicious warm veggie & cheese pitas too. Better than how i used to cook them in oven. IP: Logged |

I love panini sammiches!Try a hot mozzarella/ prosciutto/ balsamic glaze on some hearthy sourdough or Italian bread! You can sneak in some basil leaves half way through! IP: Logged |

The bread I used: Ecce Panini Ciabatta Roll. They didnt have the classic one http://www.eccepanis.com/our_breads.php You can find it at what is Hannaford's up your way. Called something different down here, but they carry Hannaford brand and it looks just like New England Hannaford's. Nice crisp, crunchy outer layer. IP: Logged |

Can you get these to plug into vans? I've heard you can get small toaster ovens. This might be an idea for my dad. He could make himself hot sandwiches on the road. IP: Logged |

Good question. I"m not sure, but I have a feeling it might not work because the voltage it needs might be too high....?I'm not sure, but it's not exactly a small appliance like a little toaster oven. And the certain areas on it get very hot and take a while to cool down (he could get burned trying to move it). So it depends on his set up in the van. I could be wrong and maybe it would work. I just think it might require too much electricity to operate. Yeah, would be something nice to be able to take on the road. IP: Logged |

came back because i was just thinking about Hobo Sandwich makers, or pie irons...wonder if that would work for him via single burner electric stovetop (unless he camps out sometimes and then could use it over flame) Here's some more info: http://www.firepies.com/irons.html http://www.amazon.com/Diablo-Stovetop-Toasted-Sandwich-Snack/dp/B000H7DEYA http://www.amazon.com/Romes-1705-Square-Steel-Handles/dp/B000FNLXWG/ref=pd_sim_sbs_k_3 IP: Logged |

Mum made paninis for us on Sunday! We had a little movie day with Gouda, pear slices and multigrain tortillas, hummus and veggies then paninis with roasted chicken, roasted red peppers, field greens, onions and pesto. They were AWESOME! She uses her Foreman grill to make them.Hannaford down there is Sweet Bay. I loved Sweet Bay! IP: Logged |

well, I cant top any of these, however I adore em!!!Since I am so ridiculously carb sensitive, I have not ventured into the land of true home made paninis. I love my little panini maker, tho. I use spelt, rice bread and just purchased a loaf of millet to try next... I wonder how omelttes would be? Gunna try! IP: Logged |
