Hello health nuts on Lindaland! I was wondering if anyone has a special smoothie that they use for digestive health, one that is fiber-rich and increases the likelihood of one having a bowel movement after drinking it. A “poop shake”, if you will. I make a smoothie that has ½ cup of ground oatmeal, tblsp ground flaxseed, tblsp Benefiber (or generic substitute), tblsp of psyllium fiber, Green Superfood and almond milk and this helps somewhat, but what I am looking for is the “Grand Poohba” of smoothies… Any suggestions?

Anything that has fresh apple juice or pineapple or coconut works for me. Flax meal has the opposite effect on me, so I personally wouldn't take it for digestive health. IP: Logged |

Flax oil makes me go, but the seed - ooh, I had one painful experience when I wasn't drinking enough water...Coconut oil makes me go. Banana + hot tea makes me go, too. Something with avocado by Kimberly Snyder, had me running for the bathroom. IP: Logged |

Thank you for your replies! I think I will try easing up on the ground flax and adding coconut oil to my smoothies, since that . I have heard lots of good things about coconut oil and I use it in my hair, so I already have some!IP: Logged |
